Its a well known issue that HTC has yet to address

As far as I'm concerned, the controllers need to be recalled and a proper replacement issued

My system was brand new direct from HTC and only used controllers 2 days and one bricked from 18 inch roll off couch onto soft carpet.

If it falls from couch cushion to plush carpet while powered on it will brick

The customer support told me that they couldn't handle my issue regardless of warranty because it isn't suitable in my region, being in AP,FPO

I highly advise against getting a vive because its been nothing but a nightmare with customer support and controller issues

I spent about $10 getting the screwdrivers at my local home depot and now mine works fine

This has a MAJOR design flaw regarding the touch pad

Controller works great, was easy to set up and has met all my expectations

HTC is going to make a killing off people buying an extra $125 controller so they can use their system while they take weeks fixing or replacing bricked controller.

I purchased the HTC Vive locally, contacted HTC when my controller became defective after just a week

There is an obvious design flaw and the only reason I bought this extra controller was so that I still had two while they decided on repairing the other or replacing it

The reason they easily earn 2 stars is because they have a very consistent design flaw (that for some reason they never fixed as reviews poured out) that causes the clicking function of the touchpad to deteriorate, eventually losing 1 or all 4 sides of clicking capability
