Also the bluetooth option is great , if u want to control or operate the unit with say a tablet, i use a galaxy 4 tab, works well, i can send text, pictures and view maps , to name a couple great features

Great radio, great features, I chose to program the radio with RT Systems software, and I use the radio in my car every day

I could find, only 2 PRICE of Accessories, and amount of Dstar repeaters available., but they are a big two
Though it seems at least in my area there are more Dstar repeaters available than the others, still not near as many out there as I would have figured, if you live near a major city you will have no problems im assuming by what i can see, but suburbs could be a problem

But again over a hundred dollars for the BT module, when there are (shade tree mechanic types) that are making and selling these same lil modules for about $25, i think again ICOM is maybe taking advantage of its customers, and then the ear piece again same story.

that will fix that problem for you,( in the area of about $200) if you like that sorta thing , me personally ,,, dongles just seem to be going away from the whole

The body of the radio is mounted out of site, and the display head is easy enough to unplug and put away, or take along so that the only sign of a radio is the antenna

The 5.5 inch display (320 × 128 pixel) shows a large easy-to-see software keypad (Qwerty keyboard), and allows you to input alphanumeric characters quickly
The ID-5100A receives 118–174MHz and 375–550MHz* with dual receiver capability that allows you to receive two bands simultaneously (including within a single band)*
Almost all VHF & UHF communications are available to you! The ID-5100A has simultaneous receive for FM/FM and FM/DV modes, and the capability of monitoring two DV signals
The main band audio has priority, if two DV signals come in at the same time
Received position information example The ID-5100A/E has integrated GPS which allows you to transmit and receive position data from the built-in GPS receiver
Position, course, speed and altitude are shown on the display
The GPS position information can be used for exchanging position reports, tracing the GPS log and searching for nearby repeater sites
The GPS antenna is located in the remote head, no external GPS antenna required
The DV/FM repeater list function assists you in accessing near-by repeaters, even where you are visiting an area for the first time
The function searches for near-by repeaters using the repeater memories with the GPS position information
To use the repeater list function, the position data of the repeater is required in the repeater list
The ID-5100A/E will be shipped with a limited number of repeater memories preprogrammed.
