Awesome computer tool set, I purchased this as a gift and my brother loves it

The ifixit kit is by far the best toolkit for working on electronics

and they're nicely built unlike so many other cheap toolkits around

If that's the case, you might be inclined to get a cheaper toolkit, I would not

If you repair apple devices this is the BEST toolkit you can get

I fell in love with them and decided to purchase my own and figured that I take enough s**t apart that I should just go with the kit that had the case and all the essentials

I used the toolkit to do an upgrade of RAM and SSD in my MSI gaming laptop and it really made a world of difference to have nice, quality pry tools for the case and a good screw driver with multiple bit sizes etc.

But its sad that the quality of these bits are horrible

I thought this kit sounded a bit expensive compared to “similar” products on Amazon but having used some of those “similar” products this is far and away better and a great value if you routinely work with electronics or repair other household items.

The real value in ifixit lies within their tech support and their tutorials.

Pry tools are made of great quality and have very little signs of wear after multiple uses

I tried to use the tweezers for 1 dumb thing and snapped the tip off so easily

I'd have liked to see a hard-shell to help keep the anti-static strap compact or a hard case for the entire kit.

I love the roll up style case and the magnetic bit holder is really nice.

Also anything that's velcro including the case itself is horrible

I would suggest if they release a newer version to use a hard case like the driver/bit holder for the entire kit

Everything feels well made, the bit holder has been improved so I won't lose random bits, and all the included tools in a convenient (albeit soft) carrying case.

I accidentally broke the tip on the large platter tweezers, which is plastic for not scratching the drive surface, but I was doing something wrong

For the price of the toolkit, they should include a number of these components so you have replacements for when they enviably wear out or lose their tip or edge.

Every piece of the kit is engineered well and will last you a long time before they break or will need to be replaced

He works on his computer all the time and this has all the tools he will need.

My only gripe is that the tweezers broke the first time I used them.

The additional tweezers, spudgers, pry bars, etc. are all useful, and the anti-static wrist strap is well made

The only complaint I have is that wire on the anti-static wrist strap feels like a cheap slippery plastic

The suction cups aren't fantastic and the spudgers/picks are made of soft plastic (good so it doesn't scratch the device, bad because they don't last long) but it's great for someone that doesn't already have these items.

I will say though that the reverse tweezers the plastic is far too brittle

Although the plastic pry tools could be better their metal tools work great.

Instead of spending $2000 on a new laptop, I purchased a new 1 TB hard drive for $50, a new keyboard for $25, and a new power button and cable for another $25.

Other than that, this kit has everything I need for any electronic repairs, including data recovery from hard drive platters.

Needed to replace the hard drive in my Xbox so figured since I needed prying devices to open it and Torx screws to disassemble I’d break down and get the right tools.
