The bolts are a little long but worked for my application.

The bolts worked perfectly and I was able to use the original knobs that came with the unit as well.

On my vehicles rack, there is plenty of space for the securing bolts without risk of contacting the top of the vehicle.

Also, if you have a Toyota, the bolts may be too long and damage your roof.

My one complaint is : The bolts that hold the clamps come loose and I have to keep retightening them so they don't come off

The worst part, the bolts that secure the unit to the brace bars on the vehicle are too long and scratch the paint off of your car

The bolts included are not the same ones pictured in the instructions, by the way, and it's very confusing as to which part goes where

Since I already have a way to transport skies and don't use boards, I decided to replace the missing carriage bolts that formerly secured the mounting plates

The video on the product page is helpful but it is hard to see things like which bolts go where on the clamping plate because the video runs very fast and you can't zoom in

I am clearly missing the bolts, nuts and washers.

The bolts don't hit (they miss by a few mm) but if used if would be a problem since Highlander cross bars have a little flex to them, and with the movement while driving, the bolts would do a number on the car

I found that using the mounting bolts that came with the rack to mount it on my 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser would cause the bolts to contact the top of my truck with any bounce (kayaks loaded, dirt roads)

As some other reviews mentioned, if your crossbars are lower profile, the bolts for this carrier may be too long and may damage the top of your car
