The drawback to this is that it increases the likelihood the mic will be less stable, but that is mostly controlled by a thumb screw at the pin hinge

This is advertised as a heavy duty product but the joints use 1/4 in long plastic inserts that came out and dumped my expensive mic on the table

Meaning, you won’t be able to take your mic in and out, if you get a new and better mic stand you better go ahead and get a new mic as well because yours is now ruined, and it barely even keeps it in there to begin with so there’s a chance your microphone can fall out and break

Specifically using this with SM7B, I've attempted to tighten it as tight as possible but it does not hold up the microphone well, the mic is constantly drooping, its a pain to use

It’s a nice mic stand, not too big, not too small, the only problem I have with it is that I cans make the base stave but other than that it’s awesome.
