My advice for people complaining about the CPU overheating, get a decent cooling system or you'll be wasting your money.
The only down side to this chip is how hot it run average about 38-42c on the package at idle which is very high given that I have a custom loop cooling the system.
Works great, however requires a high end water cooling system
, it's very easy to overclock as long as you have a good cooling system
I could go to a water-cooling system, but that meant more down-
Just make sure to install a good CPU cooler, either quality fan/heatsink or water cooled unit
Intel blames people for overclocking it and not using a good enough cooler
If you have a wimpy water-cooler, I'd be ready to push-pull fan it.*EDIT*4.6 GHz overclock (lowest possible increment in gigabyte bios) ran it into dangerously high temp territory... 96C with spikes higher
is always at 70-75 C if i'm stress testing and 31 C at ideal with a constant VoltIf i enabled Adaptive voltage from My Asus Maximus formula the temp goes down to 25 CA great processor with a great Overclocking potential
Therefore, if I could do this build again I would highly recommend to get a cheap, under $40 aftermarket air cooler and spend the rest of your budget on a GTX 1080ti as my GTX 1080 is now now the bottleneck
Really hurting performance and my overall first time experience using your products, remember I was an AMD fanboy, now I am slightly regretting this change
Meltdown and spectre design flaw fixes can degrade the performance by 30%
The fact that this chip stays as cool as it does is impressive and also speaks well concerning the performance of the 212 EVO cooler
Why would I pay $150 more for an 1800x that was inferior in many scenarios to the best i7?Furthermore, many professional reviewers easily found flaws with the Ryzen 7 (including a bizarre performance drop off at 1080p gaming).
Great performance so far, no need to OC as I'm getting great numbers out of the box.
it runs in the low 40s C at idle and in the mid 70s c when stressed
and I absolutely love this product, worked like when i slapped it on my
With the proper DDR4 RAM memory tuning, Ryzen is 1% faster than i7-7700k at the same clockspeed, it costs $40 more, and has twice as many cores as this ripoff product.
They should have mentioned this on their product description so they wouldnt buy the wrong product
Received the product fine but when I opened the (sealed) box the

Chip is great but the TIM that intel used is utter garbage
While idling I periodically would see vastly different temperatures on each core
I am sure the chip is great, and we'll see if when it is replaced (all the other pieces are a sunk
I don't really have much else to say, it's a powerful, reliable processor at a respectable price.
it runs in the low 40s C at idle and in the mid 70s c when stressed
After making my build, I kind of regret staying loyal to intel after all these years and not going with a Ryzen CPU, just seems like a much better price to performance proposition after watching all of the reviews.
Yes it is "the best" in the bracket for gaming, but the price and the lack of real progress from the last generation is very disappointing
Otherwise the price isn't that bad for the gaming performance provided
If you have Read all this, Just to Sum this all Up, all K series CPU are "Uses at your own risk" and Have nothing short of absolute a water Cooling or Top of the Line Air Cooler heat sink
Does not come with a heat sink since it's unlocked and can be overclocked.
That said, as well as the fact that this stress test is a hilariously unrealistic load, some users might consider this configuration to be perfectly fine
Sure, it's great that Ryzen performs as well as and costs half as much as a $1k
So now that Ryzen is out, you may be wondering why get the i7-7700K?
I recommend liquid cooling for the slower temperature changes.
but it's high temperature is killing me!!!!!!!!Even with nzxt liquid cooling

It randomly shoots up to insane temperatures while doing NOTHING
Many of the old systems I built would simply freeze or shut down in this situation, but this CPU gracefully steps back from the dangerous temperatures

works like a charm, as always , no heat issues , clocked at 5ghz and running
Thanks to watercooling, the hottest I can get this thing is
I may have gotten a bad one, but this proc immediately had heat issues, right off the bat
That said, as well as the fact that this stress test is a hilariously unrealistic load, some users might consider this configuration to be perfectly fine
I've noticed faster load times in various programs and some fps increase on some games

I've used Prime 95 both 26.6 and the latest version and they both bring the temps to 100C while load is creeping up to 10% in Real Temp
Scary but bear in mind that this is an unrealistic load

6700 is a great cpu no question but 7700 is new and little bit more improved so its better
Staying cool at 39 idle 45 loaded with a v8 gts cooler and T T core x9 air cooled case.
Much needed upgrade from the intel i5 4690K CPU as it was lagging a bit and couldn't handle a simple stream from OBS until I made the upgrade with the MSI Z270 motherboard and the boot up is faster than the old one.
If you're needing an upgrade and are a bit too impatient to wait for the new AMD Ryzen (which is supposed to be as fast as the I7 6800k) get this or the 6700k if you wanna save a few bucks
Probably should've done better research, only fully supported by Windows 10, put this in other build with windows 8, things were a bit rough for a while, but after the update things are working wonderfully
