The clip that attaches to the vent has lost its pinching strength.

Try something else that a vent clip such as Scosche magnetic mount.

The foam part the clips onto your vent holds really strong at first, but after leaving it on for a couple days, it looses its grip and falls off.

Seems like the "vice grip" that clips onto the vent isn't tight enough and leads to the product moving around a lot

My problem with this mount is that it's so bulky, and the vent clip was too weak to stay put.

Because it ships separately, it's natural to attach the clip first then try to join the holder, but that's really hard to do, and there's no problem attaching the clip with the holder in place.
