I used this in a 2008 Grand Cherokee with my iPhone X and even though the air vents are fairly robust, the clip just doesn't feel as sturdy as other mounts

I typically don't like vent mounts because they are a little more wiggly than suction

The directions warn you to be sure to open the arms of the vent mount to avoid scratching your air vent, which I could imagine might be easy to do

I'd recommend going with a dash or windows mount instead.

I was skeptical as to whether a vent mount would be practical and sturdy.

Not all cars are built for vent mounts, and likewise some phones are a bit heavy for that approach, but in the context of cars and phones that do work with vent mounts ... this is great!I've used quite a few iOttie mounts (on different cars--all are going strong), and they all deliver.

After being asked to prove proof of ownership (in case replacing the mount would have solved the problem), They were willing to replace the mount with an older version or with a dash or CD mount

Besides that, it's a great mount that is easy to install and works great.

However, the mount did put a small scratch on the projecting tab used to direct air circulation when I tried to place it too close to the tab

This one is extremely bad, I got this since I lost my earlier car mount
