It works fine horizontally (landscape).The ring becomes very loose, very quickly (didn't even use the ring all that much, mostly just testing it out when I initially got it), so that it starts just flopping around.

I like the magnet for my car mount and it works good for this phone because it's light, but would be good on a heaver phone
