Update: the cable has finally bitten the dust after over a year of vigorous use
the IXCC cables have overcome both issues ... after many months of use the cables function great, continue to charge faster than any other cable i've purchased , and show no signs of wear at all
In fact, I liked this cable so much I switched out all my lightning and Micro USB cables for these

The lighter works great on the phone case, but the biggest problem with the design of the case, is that my charger will not fit into my phone when the case is on
Great case lighter switch is a little flimsy but works great
Lighter works like a charm and the case protects the iphone very well
After the battery died for the first time it wouldn't recharge... so the lighter function no longer works... which is why I bought the product... a little disappointed but still enjoy the concept.

I've been using it mostly with my LG Nexus 5 and it charges as fast as if I had it plugged into the wall
You have to jiggle them to get my iPhone or iPad Mini to charge, sometimes it give the 'unsupported accessory' error and sometimes it faults out the device so it needs to be restarted to charge at all.
Within 2 minutes the first adapter stopped working and my phone had the “this accessory is not supported” pop up that happens with cheap lightning connectors

The top rubber extends out to cover the edge of your phone (which I love), the lighter charges fast, and the bottle opener can be a bit tricky but still works
I liked it but the lock for the lighter was a bit loose
The locking mechanism for the lighter does become a bit weak after you use it for a bit
They do bother my ears a little bit after long use so the fit just may not be the best for me.
