This works especially well on metal and wood because it has lots of metal filler - if you don't believe that, put it near a magnet and it will creep over to it
My thinking was that I could gauge how well the product worked at the end of the cure period by trying to pull apart the two pieces of metal
Used this to fix a pinhole in my stainless sink - worked very well to take care of the problem.
This works great for fixing hard plastic handles and switches
The handle is now firmly glued to the door and it is working just as good before it broke.
Great epoxy for the application, the price & the seller!
Great stuff, FAST delivery, good price and packing. :-)
Sometimes referred to as a "2k epoxy" or "2s epoxy", this is one of the strongest epoxies that is readily available, affordable, and in practical sizes for home usage (there are many good makers of 2k's, but none are as easy to find for a cheap price in convenient sizes as JB Weld). It has an offensive
I saw this as an add-on and the price is cheaper than on my local store
full of JB Weld for a super cheap price...hard to go wrong with this purchase
Given its performance here though, and that it says it works on plastic, that it is the company's strongest epoxy, and that it didn't come with an expiration date, I can say that it's without a doubt the worst epoxy I've ever used.
Good adhesion qualities and very many used for this product
I have used JB Weld a number of times, it is great for a quick fix
Cheap and bonds very strong, used to extend the shafts of my golf clubs.
it would take several pages to describe the repairs I have been able to make, and the small parts I have been able to fabricate using J-B Weld
This was a fantastic product, i was able to clean and scrap up the surface of my side mirror
:InstructionsPrepare: Clean surface area of dirt, grease, oil, paint, or loose debris
DO NOT use alcohol to clean the surfaces before applying JB Weld.
Clean with a solvent (according to another reviewer, acetone is the best solvent for this purpose, but rubbing alcohol will work), roughen the surface, then clean with the solvent again.
Make sure whatever you are fixing has a clean surface free of paint and dirt and you will have a strong repair.
This includes to repair broken brackets on engines and seal even intake or exhaust manifolds from holes, rust, or broken pieces on metal
To repair a broken, hollow aluminum tube, fabricate a piece of 2" to 5" of oakwood (or other hard wood) that will slip into both ends of the broken tube section; it should be a tight fit.
Often you can arrange pieces so that the weight of the top piece will hold the joint together until the JB Weld cures
i used it to fix my notebook.i dropped it and broke the small plastic pieces of the case that the laptop screen's hinge is screwed
I used it to bond some small stainless steel pieces to plastic inside my car.
any outer coating(s).)I could tell you about all of my applications of this, but you would get bored fast as it would be a really long list
Dries dark gray- painted with flat black paint and can't even tell it was broken.
That when I cracked the block on my Model T, JB Weld fixed it
I tried to move the piece back and fourth, but it wouldn't budge, its welded like it should be!The nice thing about JB Weld, is that it can be sanded, ground down, painted, after it has been cured
I ground the paint off and put on three coats of this epoxy on the base that was cracked and where the post goes through the base plate
Just don't have unreasonable expectations: this will not bond plastic very well and vinyl not at all
WHEN TO USE EPOXY CEMENTWhen you need a strong rigid workable (e.g. sandable and/or paintable surface) adhesive, particularly for use on metal or hard plastic, epoxy is usually the best choice.
That was when the radiator of my car developed a leak in the top plastic portion near the radiator hose
J-B weld is the best... glued together the armrests on my chair (made out of some kind of hard plastic) better than three other brands of epoxy that I tried
I just "plastic welded" my split in half camry front bumper with this and worked like it was never broken
If the joint breaks again (because the wood is weak), it can be re-glued
Even after using the knife with a baton through other hard wood, the J-B Weld appears as strong as the steel! There is none better!
A radial arm saw drum sander attachment is handy to hand-fabricate the hard wood piece.
Once happy with the fabricated wood, apply a thin coat of J-B inside broken portion of the aluminum tube and coat the hard wood repair section with J-B.
To repair a broken, hollow aluminum tube, fabricate a piece of 2" to 5" of oakwood (or other hard wood) that will slip into both ends of the broken tube section; it should be a tight fit.
