  • This is a good product, however the first time I used it the rosin block cracked off a little
  • Nice product, my daughter lost her rosin (for the cello) and I bought this as a replacement
  • Wonderful product, I have used it and recommended it to my students for over 20 years
  • I am still learning, but another student recommended this product to me

Reviews around quality (4.43 of 5)

  • She doesn't have to scratch it all up to use it, it goes on smoothly and easily, and it works well with her bow to produce a pretty nice sound on a hand-me-down violin of unknown quality
  • Quality of the local stuff seems good and it will save me more money!
  • so I decided to put out a little extra money for some better rosin than Super Sensitive student quality
  • Sound quality of my instruments is better with this rosin then the rosin I had been previously using.
  • This is good quality and will last for a very long time.

Reviews around package (4.33 of 5)

  • While I'm not a professional violinist, I've used it in many amateur and community orchestras, as well as in my own playing for pleasure, and it has always done the job
  • There is nothing wrong with it, it was shipped fast, the packaging was fine and it was in good shape
  • came in good packaging although the rosin box had some dust in the outside
  • But it came in a tight package, very secure, and found to be perfect without a single crack or scratch
  • While I'm not a professional violinist, I've used it in many amateur and community orchestras, as well as in my own playing for pleasure, and it has always done the job

Reviews around case (4.33 of 5)

  • The rosin itself is a strange greenish colour, the case is plastic, but protects it
  • In order to preserve the rosin for its intended longtime use, it must come in a sturdy , non-crackable case, or else the rosin would deteriorate and for the price the seller charge, better product protection during shipping would go a long way and avoid unnecessary returns.
  • I'mnot being a smart a**s, just telling you the truth about the rosin that I received.
  • While I'm not a professional violinist, I've used it in many amateur and community orchestras, as well as in my own playing for pleasure, and it has always done the job
  • Cracked case, even missing a chunk, "rosin" was intact however

Reviews around time (4.21 of 5)

  • This is also a perfect time to clean the bow of any old rosin and really reap the benefits of something high quality
  • I am a middle school student and in my free time I play the cello
  • I accidently dropped it a few times and it didn't break or crack.
  • Jade rosin is so amazing, I didn't need to rosin my bow between the time I had lost mine and the time I got a new one.

Reviews around grip (4.18 of 5)

  • Gives the right grip with the least dust floating around
  • It does not help the bow grip the string very well at all.
  • Makes my strings glide with just enough pressure and grip to have a loud powerful sound
  • It gives an exceptionally good grip, but without clumping on the strings.
  • Low dust, great gripping, lasts moderately long.

Reviews around price (3.95 of 5)

  • The full price is a little too steep, so I also appreciate this and other companies reducing the price and running a sale once in awhile so I can get it when I need it.
  • Don't be fooled by the reasonable price -- they are both really excellent and manufactured very consistently
  • Excellent rosin for an outstanding price, and was delivered very quickly
  • The full price is a little too steep, so I also appreciate this and other companies reducing the price and running a sale once in awhile so I can get it when I need it.
  • The price is not cheap but still well-worth the price as you don't want to torture your ears with noisy music.

Reviews around violin (3.95 of 5)

  • I am the first to say that I don't have a lot of experience as a violinist - I bought a pretty nice starter violin at the same time I bought this rosin and have been teaching myself as time goes on
  • Works better than stock rosin that comes with cheaper violin kits.
  • I'll probably stick to this brand because it makes my violin sound so great.
  • This is big bucks for strings... but as a result of this change in rosin and strings, my violin sounds almost like a Vuillaume I once played
  • It was as if I had just spent several thousand dollars on a better violin

Reviews around sound (3.88 of 5)

  • The answer came - nice rosin and a nice sound for 400 times of playing (about the # of
  • My bow grips the strings and produces a much louder fuller sound
  • I'm not getting the scratchy sound I was getting before.
  • However, when I applied it to my ethanol-cleaned bow, it produced a scratchy sound on my violin...this doesn't happen for my Melos rosin, which was the only rosin that I have used by then
  • Great rosin, using on 2 violins and 1 viola, very little residue and good sound

Reviews around stuff (3.86 of 5)

  • It may be more expensive then the cheaper rosin choices but according to my son it plays so much better than the cheaper stuff.
  • As an amateur player, I figured expensive rosin was only for the pros, and I could get by with the cheap stuff.
  • I think I like the Goldflex a bit more at this early stage of my testing, but this stuff is WAAY better than what came with the violin, or what a friend of mine gave
  • I don't think this stuff sticks very well and it sqeaks quite a bit for me
  • I bought it at a summer music camp a couple of years ago because it was the only kind they had available, but I loved it so much, I'm not going back to the cheap stuff I used to use

Reviews around jade rosin (3.68 of 5)

  • The Jade rosin is much nicer--no squeaks/scratches--just tone
  • First I must say this rosin is noticeably better than the generic 4-5 dollar rosin purchased at the local music store (This Jade rosin produces a more crisp and clear sound)
  • I'mnot being a smart a**s, just telling you the truth about the rosin that I received.
  • The Jade rosin produces A LOT LESS dust on your strings and instrument, and it sounds 100% better
  • Jade rosin is so amazing, I didn't need to rosin my bow between the time I had lost mine and the time I got a new one.

Reviews around bow (3.14 of 5)

  • The Liebenzeller rosin is now about $30, so I took a chance and bought this stuff, using it to break in a new bow
  • This is also a perfect time to clean the bow of any old rosin and really reap the benefits of something high quality
  • Before I drop them, they do very well in keeping my bow ready for playing my fiddle
  • Again I properly cleaned the bow and tried a different, quality soft rosin and presto, my bows were back to sounding the way they should
  • First, we cleaned her bow to remove as much old rosin as possible

Reviews around rosins (1.69 of 5)

  • There were less expensive rosins, but I feel that this was worth the extra cost.
  • I honestly see no difference with that product from cheaper rosins
  • I have tried several rosins that left dust, lost the grippines and just didn't seem to last on the bow
  • I'mnot being a smart a**s, just telling you the truth about the rosin that I received.
  • Gives my Violin & Viola a nice tone that is warmer & clearer than the cheaper light rosins
