But for the pregain on the lead channel, a little change seems to make a huge difference

They didn't really help the clean channel that much.

I've only had one day with them but they sound crisp on the clean channels and gritty on the distortion settings

I recommend with any solid state amp as it cost $65 and turns it into a mean tube screaming amp with a killer sound.
