Joyo JF-01 Vintage Overdrive Guitar Effect Pedal with True B... - 2024 report by Whydis
Joyo JF-01 Vintage Overdrive Guitar Effect Pedal with True Bypass
Color:JF-01
9V battery included and 9V DC power connection. Quality Switch, Tone, Volume and Drive Knobs. LED, notched knobs. Stomp box style DPDT switch for clean, quiet switching. Single ¼ inch (instrument cable) input and output jacks.
That being said, it is well built and has a good bluesy overdrive sound
This pedal is great, it was inexpensive, sounds fantastic, is well built and the controls function like they are supposed too
Its well built, sounds good and the price is unbeatable.
Truth be told, I kind of prefer my Behringer TO800 tonewise- more of a personal preferance in the way I prefer Pepsi to Coke but still drink both - but the TO800 pedal isn't true bypass and the build is much more flimsy on that one
Produces Vox AC30 like sounds, is very well built and has many many different tones that sound pretty darn good for such an inexpensive pedal
Most "Marshall-in-a-box" stomps, imo, sound much tamer than a real Marshall, and they give you a "prettied-up", safer version of that sound, in order to appease the 15-year-old Children Of Boredom/Cannibal Corpse lame-o neo-hippies the scene is now infested with
Works great as a clean boost or as straight up overdrive
Gives nice sustain to both clean and dirty notes and when you bump up the volume knob on the pedal, you can use it as a clean boost
So, I got this "cheap" pedal as to use as a clean boost to my Blues Overdrive.
My setup is a very simple one...starting with a Stratocaster to compressor, wah-wah, super-overdrive, boost pedal, delay, then straight into the front end of a tube amp with reverb & vibrato
Just save up for a used tube screamer this product is worthless
I wouldn't even give this one star if Amazon let me, I ordered this product twice in the last week and both times this pedal was broken when I took it out of the box
I couldn't recommend anything else by Behringer though as the other products I've used made by them were crap.
good product , fast delivery, good seller, definitely recommend to a friend
Recommend to anyone who is interested in a good product with a good price.
This is a high quality great sounding pedal and well worth the low price.
Seems to be fairly good quality as opposed to boutique and should stand up to the rigors of gigging.
The stories of poor build quality of Joyo pedals is backed up by what I found - I have an American Sound pedal and this also has a DC power socket that is not central with the hole in the casing (plug can't be inserted)
From what I've read in the reviews, my experience isn't uncommon, so I do feel it's fair to rate the product poorly because of bad quality control.
As far as the quality of the pedal, for the price it's great
Nice sounds from low overdrive to Hard Rock distortion.
Has a great sound from warn overdrive to a good distortion
I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this to anyone considering a cheap distortion pedal
this pedal has a great distortion tone, and would be good as a stand alone distortion, if not a tube-ifyer
This pedal is not a hard core distortion but even with the gain rolled all the way off it still adds a good amount of break up to a clean channel with guitar volume up all the way and medium to hard picking
I get this effect with both my Marshall tube amp as well as with a rack mounted preamp
I bought this overdrive for my brother's H&K Tubemeister 18 which he just hated with a passion because it didn't have enough gain
At first I was confused as to why it sounded horrible but got such great reviews
(Full CCW causes the compression to start immediately; full CW brings the compression on gradually so the pick attack and the majority of the initial tone passes through unaffected).Once you get the feel of that, dial up a singing overdrive tone and notice what you can do with it
Not the end all pedals like some claim but they all work as they are supposed to.
It doesn't tone-suck when bypassed, is easy to dial in, has a hi/low switch, easy battery swap compartment
I thought maybe a dead battery, nope, this P.O.S. is broken after less than 2 hours of light use.
PriceRangeSoundCons:9V Battery only, it would be nice if you could plug it in, otherwise you must be conscientious of your battery useOverall great product so far, well worth the price, and a lot of fun, I will be purchasing one for myself!
I only found that out after replacing the dead battery that it comes with, and plugging in to a power supply (not provided with unit).
At this extremely affordable price it's hard to pass by such a great petal billed as an OCD clone this pedal does not sound quite as good as the Fulltone petal but is extremely usable and excellent sounding t in my opinion

Battery or 9v power, footswitch is a nice click that is easy to feel, design is cheesy but not overly cheesy
Footswitch is nice and solid and feels like your standard boutique true bypass switch.

(as you turn it clock wise) - I like it for adding charcater/punch to my live

and I don't think they would hold up to much use over time but mine will be hard wired on a pedal board.
Loose wires and bad components were everywhere on the board
As cheap as it is even 2 are cheaper than buying what it was copied from....the jacks are super cheap as is the switch and the wiring is not so hot, but for the price you cant really beat it...
Solid build construction, sound is good, no wiring issues
This delay was quite " no extra hiss" and sounded very good to my ears with just enough repeats to go into ocolation, if I want, and plenty of time option to play with
Construction is first rate and there is absolutly no hum, hiss, loss of signal, nor any excessive coloring of your signal

Bad: Adds a little noise & hiss specially to single coils (strats & teles).
It really is unusable creates a horrible hiss and feedbacks so bad I couldn't even play
