The KDLinks box looks great and is well designed - it is roughly twice the size of an O!Play but who cares, you can hide it in any orientation within a kiosk - but you don't need to, I said it looks good, right, and for the price, you can easily buy three of them for the price of one O!Play or Roku - and remember... true gapless loops

The unit seemed entirely incapable of rendering .ts files in high definition (jerky picture) and had no support for Dolby 5.1 soundtracks

Also I may have got a defective unit, but this one works fine on first boot, then if I shut it down and power it up again it will show the screen for a second, go black for a second, show the screen for a second, then repeats the process

If you can operate your cable box, you can work this device

Once again, your HD230 device failed to recognize the presence of the drive, both when USB connected to my Windows 7 computer, and also when connected to a television with your built-in ‘browser’ failing to find the drive.

Realizing immediately that your HD230 device was totally failing to do its job, I then removed the drive and installed it directly into my computer and initialized & formatted the drive (MBR, NTFS) successfully in Windows 7.

The directions are easy to follow and even someone like myself could effortlessly install and start this wonderful device up

This is a very solid, high quality player

The fact that the quality was excellent too, was icing on the cake.

I have connected a Western Digital 2TB external hard drive via USB and the HD 230 reads this drive very quickly and enables me to select what I want very efficiently via its explorer

Considering that I am running out of space for CDs and that a 2TB hard drive can hold the equivalent of over 2000 CDs in lossless file format, the HD 230 is an excellent find for me

I also installed a 1TB WD internal hard drive, which works fine with the unit as well

Xbox.- A 2 TB hard drive (not included) would be plenty of space to hold copies of all of your DVDs

KD Links will not handle 2TB external hard drives with NTFS format

I'm able to install a $50 hard drive and put them all on at once

Last was a hard drive that was internally inside the device

not only will it run MP4s from a USB stick it also will run presentations from an SD card AND you can add an inexpensive hard drive and queue up multiple, very large, presentations/videos to run in a loop.

MPEG 2 encoding on a fast flash drive has had the most success for what we use it for.

It response fast when looking through external hard drive.

They also provided data as to how to convert to that format for the USB drives which didn't work.

I was looking for a device that I could use to display all my photos on my TV and playback all my music through my amplifier and do it all via USB from a flash drive or USB hard drive
