So in comparison to what I'm used to, the KEF's bring back the clarity factor the Infinity's had with a nice diffraction-free open sounstage and of course the surround
For the satellites (4), I purchased the optional floor stands (another $400 for a set of 4); it was pricey, but allows me to space them around the room for proper surround effect
If your serious about getting a great surround sound system do not go any farther, you found it.

i also like the design of these speakers, the subwoofer is unbelievable! if you're going to buy these speakers i highly recommend getting the harman kardon av 340 reciever, in order to get maximum performance.

Yet, the system as a whole gives a very satisfying listening experience, with no audible distortion and wide frequency and dynamic ranges when used with a Panasonic BD70V Blu-Ray player and a Denon AVR-3310CI
The sound is beautiful...rich and warm with every, high,low and mid range beautifully produced and very clear with no distortion at any volume.
There is a good range of motion to point the speaker once mounted to a wall

The people at KEF did a great job packaging the system as well
Given the above, I can honestly say that the KEF 3005 5.1 system is truly remarkable.
But I am so satisfied with the KEF (now, 7.1) system, that I am not even considering the eventual purchase of a more expensive speaker system unless I win the Lottery, my wife starts teaching full-time again, or Congress passes a flat tax bill.

Even though the Bose is a good compact system, these KEF speakers are so much better
So for you with a modest budget and a passion for beauty and modernlooking things (a bit SF actually).I have had KEF floorstanding speakers before, I really like the true sound of KEF speakers
my cousin has bose and his speakers sounded really harsh, mids were to strong and sharp (tweets are too loud) and he had 6 speakers and one woofer and still didn't fill the room with sound like these fine kef speakers.. for the price I got them for, they are the best value for my money I have ever made
I thought the BOSE Lifestyle system's were excellent however after owning the KEF's and hearing what they can do I definitely recommend the KEF's over the Bose anyday.

The subwoofer is so powerful that it shakes your whole body if you are using a Blu-Ray movie
They fill a medium sized room with great sound and the subwoofer is just seamless and is paired wonderfully.
The subwoofer in particular is stunning - not boxy like most, but a donut shaped piece that can be placed upright or face down
I wish the subwoofer was easier to get loud enough, but once that was accomplished, -----WOW!!!!!!!
