The lens is in the upper part which is impossible to reach with fingers or even the cleaning brush

I used the included cleaning brush to clean inside the scanner only to find there was a smudge on the lens itself

Once you get down how it works this is a good device does just what we want👍 To take old 35mm slides and digitizes them and they seem just fine.

This device works OK if you're just skimming through an unsorted series of slides, but is annoying if you're trying to sort them and keep them in sequence

The device auto corrects and all look better than actual original scan

This unit worked great on 90% of my 1000 or so 60 year old 35mm slides from the 50's and 60's from my dad

After having it a couple of days I can say that I'm very happy with the Kodak slide and scan., evaluating the ease of use and functions as well as the final results of my photo transfers

This is a nice little product that does a fast and good job of scanning slides

However, I didn't bother with any adjustments outside of the lamp - I used the native photo software on my PC which does a pretty decent job

However, I highly recommend this scanner if you are looking to accomplish a similar project of converting old slides.

My project was perfect, easy to use, and the default settings were all that I needed.

I like the large screen, it makes it easier to see the images

The 5" screen is great for reviewing and adjusting the lighting or color of the slide if necessary

At times, you could processas many as 10-20 slides or as few as 1-3 slides before the device would just freeze the screen.

When using this scanner, it would freeze the screen after only two or threeslides were processed.

I bought this item because it had a larger screen than the comparably priced competition and it promised 22 mb images, which it delivered.

the quality was substantially better with 35mm than 110 - but that makes sense because it is such a small film format, and the quality was always bad!It scans in a matter of seconds once you have the film situated in the window.

I opted to scan the negatives as opposed to the pictures with the hopes of better quality.

Quality is only as good as the negative of course.

The quality was very good, but every once in awhile the unit would lock up and I would have to unplug it and let it "reboot"

It is always a surprise when you insert an old negative and see perfect colors on the screen

I used the product to transfer 135mm color negatives to sd card digital format for use on photo frame and television slide show

The obtained digital image is surprisingly with good color quality and reasonable resolution
