This a fantastic compressor - What a smooth and easy to use
I needed an inexpensive compressor to even out my dynamics for clean playing, but I also like the substantial clean boost that you can get out of this pedal
One of the best compressors I've ever owned, and I've owned an endless list of boutique and vintage compressors.
This compressor is really nice, I love the level and sustain on it, really brings the tone out of your guitar
However it was a good sounding basic compressor when it was functioning.
This pedal produces a nice, warm sounding, vintage/tube distortion
Power boost amplifies sound perfect for a rock and roller lead guitarist
The next day all the pedal did was increase volume and background fuzz with a clean sound
It's seems to be a clone for the mxr Dyna Comp.i like to keep the sustain and attack at 2 o'clock and the level at 10 o'clock and it gives me a good cleaned up sound.
While I like the sustain (and even the boost) that it provides, I have yet to figure out how to remove the annoying "click" that I get with each plucked note
A good setting for starters:Sustain at 10 o'clockAttack at 3 o'clock to fully dimedLevel at 12 o'clock (can crank for clean boost)Good job, Kokko

I use it as a clean volume boost and as a distortion/ overdrive pedal

This guy has a nice sweet spot, but is incredibly versatile to achieve anything from overdrive to pure grinding distortion.
And the 5 stars isn't JUST for the tone, because if you wanted to spend 3 times the money, I'm sure you could find a "better" distortion, but let's keep this in perspective, here
This for a dark matter distortion
No noise, hum, buzz, pops, or thumps.the distortion pedal exceeded my expectations at this prices.
If you crank up the Drive knob, you get a really nice distortion sound
