The removable plates are very easy to remove for cleaning.

The front latch broke the first time I used it, and the top plate keeps falling down when I open it, even when it feels like it has clicked in place.

I had a much cheaper waffle iron and the upgrade is definitely worth the money.

The heating seemed a little uneven and the finish alarm was activating too late, but by watching the amount of steam coming from the closed iron, we were able to remove the finished waffles before they turned too brown

I took the plates out of the machine to give 'em a quick soao-and-water scrub, then after drying, brushed on a bit of oil to help the non-stickey coating a bit, whipped up some Snoqualmie Falls pancake mix while the machine pre-heated... about 1 cup mix with 1 cup water was just about right to cover the lower plate, beep beep beep beep, said the machine- in went the batter, locked the lid down and waited for the second set of beeps

I am not sure if this is a design flaw or a one of a kind issue

The handle on this waffle maker has become so brittle due to a design flaw + heat that it recently snapped off

With the smaller, more easy to store waffle maker that craped out, I would have to make breakfast in stages, hoping the first batch would still be warm by the time I got everything to the table

We usually make a large batch of batter and freeze the waffles.

The first batch is good, crispy on the outside nod soft on the inside.

We like making a big batch of waffles and freezing them

I could barely touch the handle without burning my hand.

I’ve almost burned my hand a few times

Additionally the handle was always very hot when cooking and it is easy to burn your hand if you’re not careful.

Overall, it makes good waffles but has a cheap plastic handle that broke within a week of having it.

The plastic is cheap and if it cracks the whole thing is useless

Eventually the coating will degrade but I hope to get many years out of them before that happens, and Krups sells replacement plates

After 4 or 5 uses the top has rusty coating

I don't recommend putting them in the dishwasher, it'll degrade the nonstick coating

The only thing is that we like our waffles to be cooked a bit more than golden brown so we have to reset it and manually monitor the progress... this is not a shortcoming of the product... it's just that we like waffles a bit
