The handle on this waffle maker has become so brittle due to a design flaw + heat that it recently snapped off

It’s not intentional, but this does seem to be a design flaw in the manufacturing

Bought this product because of overall good reviews from Amazon and Wirecutter, but this design flaw seems to make it terribly vulnerable to breakage

I am not sure if this is a design flaw or a one of a kind issue

My last waffle iron was a fairly inexpensive B&D model.
