The green/red light indicates if the machine is ready

The machine is great.

If you remove the bottom plate first then the machine is top heavy and falls over backwards

It beeps when the machine is ready to pour the waffle batter and beeps again when the waffles are ready.

Initially, I loved this machine

Other than that, it is a good machine - if you get one with proper heat control

If you overfill or under fill and the waffle doesn't turn out square, it's Not the machine's fault.

Used it a few times and so far I must admit its not a bad machine at its its particular price point.
