I went all the way up to 8 ("percolator"—past "drip coffee") and it was still slow to drip and muddy tasting

I tried several brands of beans and even pre-ground coffee but could not make a decent tasting cup with this machine

What more could you want?Personally, I still prefer the taste of a good cafe presse (such as a Bodum unit or similar "plunger"-type coffee makers),, but for those who like good drip coffee, this is a great choice.

The Krups burr grinder is a great improvement over my old blade grinder and it really did improve the taste of the coffee

I do think that the coffee tastes slightly different too using a metal burr as opposed to ceramic which seems to deliver a better mouthfeel

So I am confident that it will give me years of reliable service and great tasting coffee

The reusable filter is difficult to clean as it is part of another plastic piece.
