#2 best thing - the perfect size cup

This thing is not great

The only thing needed an improvement is noise

3-Not sure why, but this thing generates static like no tomorrow

I don't see the bean oils as a bad thing when in plastic/etc as they don't go rancid and sort of "season" the parts,

I removed 1 star for the cleaning and 2 for the carafe as that is the worst thing about this maker.

This thing is loud, super messy, and unimpressive from a grind consistency standpoint.

Not a good thing and not as advertised.

You have adjustments for grind (with two "official" positions for the upper burr element), and brew cycle (a button called "bold" which slows things down - probably by using a lower heat setting)

Firstly, this thing is MESSY.

One thing I love is to ground fresh beans

This thing aggravates the living hell out of me every time I use it, and it's a crappy way to start your day

This to me is the most amazing thing -- why can't all coffee makers be this easy to clean?5

It has a push button release on the right side and after I push the button I have to use my other hand to hold the whole thing down while I wrestle the lid off

I find its a great thing to have in the house

The important thing, however is that if you don't know what you're doing or aren't quite ready to go full-on PHD Coffee Snob and just want to make a decent cup of coffee, the advice in the instructions are enough to get you started and to start experimenting yourself

It works ok for ground coffee, but having to take the whole thing apart and clean it every day is daunting , which brings me to my next point the glass coffee pot is precariously balance by the lid that does not open all the way.

Understand if you use the grind and brew function, you must, ( emphasis on "must") clean the whole thing between each brew

The next day - same thing, 2 mugs worth, and a month later, still the daily desired 2 mugs worth

Only bad thing about this grinder is the static which makes a mess

But everything else about this damned thing absolutely SUCKS

I love this thing, it is louder than I expected but I can overlook that

The problem is that this thing creates a mess when you pull out the hopper and take the top off...it gets coffee grounds everywhere no matter how careful I am
