This microphone worked initially but lately there is a lot of scratchy noise on the playback

The microphone itself worked, but I don't think the quality was any better than a cheaper lavalier, and in fact may have been worse.

It doesn't cost much more than a passive microphone, so would highly recommend buying the MAONO.
