On the other hand, A ‘real’ Leica, with lenses to match the D-Lux, would cost well into $30,000.Correspondingly, in terms of light gathering power, comparable micro 4/3 cameras with more megapixels have roughly thirty percent smaller pixels
While I bet Leica will not read this what I would like to see in the next version of this camera is a lens with the same speed as this one but going out to 100 mm, probably impossible to do with the current size constraints.
The Leica makes it very convenient to manage everything without using the menu system - a huge plus for me.
On the other hand I've always wanted a Leica, love German engineering but could never afford one
Leica and Panasonic collaborate on many aspects of camera development, and this DLUX, is the best of both worlds
However, the $300 difference is much smaller than with previous release, and in return you get a 3 year warranty, made in Japan vs China, and a more solid body with very stylish design, and Lightroom
the extra weight is in no small measure the result of a strong, weather-resistant camera body.
I would prefer a slightly larger body to have a built in flash.

A stellar design, an included free dl of lightroom, 3 year warranty, & different firmware that adds the IT factor to your photos
I wanted a portable powerhouse camera with a sleek design to complement my EM1
The design of the camera and more importantly the quality of the photographs are both amazing.

Many of the other point and shoots have a very clean top deck which means you need to diddle with the menu much more than I like, specially in bright sunlight.
Next in importance is the top deck of this camera, simple and to the point but with all you really need close at hand.
You can set the shutter speed with a dial on the top deck and the aperture on the lens itself just like an old film camera.

The fact that my new compact gives me full creative control, is twice as good at hand held low light situations, and has a larger sensor makes this my SLR replacement camera
P-A-S-M wheel, traditional top plate controls for exposure compensation and shutter speed, clicky aperture dial on AF lens in 1/3 stop increments,
