I set up Echo using the My Leviton Skill and Smart home.

Works really well, integrating with my other smart home devices, smart hub, and other automation devices

It really was an easy integration with my home smart controls.

The bulb and smart plug have to both have dimmer built in

I have a plug I can not use because I refuse to change my password on my wifi to a less secure password.

The only disadvantage with a Leviton system is that the rest of the smart plugs are more expensive than the generic ones from Amazon ($30+ vs $15), so I use the cheap plugs instead.

But both those criticisms apply to almost all WiFi smart plugs

I now have 2 Smart WiFi plugs and 3 Smart WiFi Light Switches.

Setup is easy, the app is good, and integration with Alexa works perfectly as well

The dimming is nice, but if you change it to whatever magic number the app decides it doesnt like, then expect your lamp to shut down - unplugging it will fix it

On top of that, the associated app was slow and you had to log in every time just to use it

, the switch is reasonably nice for local control, the app can configure a few things (like min/max dimming levels, bulb type, locator light on/off) which is good

The switch works OK manually but the app to control it is such garbage that I can't even create an account to set it up

and the electrician had to call in to tech support to find this out

I downloaded the wrong one but tech support corrected that in a few seconds!

Just found out from tech support that you can only install one switch per breaker

A great (possibly overlooked) feature in the app is the ability to tell the dimmer what type of bulb(s) it is controlling (incandescent, CFL or LED) providing a more linear relationship between slider position in the app and brightness

The other smart devices in the home continue to function, so this makes no sense to me.

The switch is well made, easy to install with clear instructions and the wifi connect, leviton app and connect to alexa was very simple

The instructions are easy to understand and install is very quick

Foolproof setup steps through the app, easy tap on/off switching, and it works flawlessly

I thought setup was a little tricky, so choose your room names wisely

Setup was easy and it was nice not to have to have a hub.

I ran the setup 5 times in a row and all attempts failed.

I have the SSID of my IoT network hidden for security reasons, but the setup app for these switches does not support manually entering the WiFi information for the switch to connect to; you are REQUIRED to pick from a list of visible networks.

So you cannot turn the switch on or off from the app as well as not being able to do it with Alexa.

Then you can just say "Hey Google, dim pendant to 50 percent" as you head to the dining room and the lighting will almost be done dimming as you enter the room.

Tricky install with a 3-pole, requiring Leviton DW15S for "hot" line connection and Leviton Remote switch for secondary "load" connection

We were installing three dimmers, the installation hit a glitch with the first one, after powered up it was not showing up in the list of wi-fi networks for me to configure it, while I was debugging what could be the causes since I was seeing the device was in pairing mode, the Tech went about installing the second one (in the same box) which refused to get into pairing mode

I have now purchased 7 switches and one is bad [ dimmer doesn't work properly and will not connect to the internet ] after calling tech support and being told it was wired improperly

In reality, its just a smart switch, not a smart dimmer

Bottom line, if you live in an older house or use halogen lights, this dimmer might not work for you

It appears that this particular dimmer has a defect but there is a work around.

In my search, this is the only smart dimmer out there you can use without a hub

If you are looking for a smart switch, its nice, but avoid this product if you need to dim dimmable LED bulbs.

I had a far easier time pairing cheap wifi bulbs than this product

To the best of my knowledge Leviton does not have such an offering.- Because of the lack of integration, automation is extremely limited

That unfortunately limits the automation you can do with the Leviton switches.

You can say commands like "turn on abc lights," "Dim abc lights to 50%," or "turn off abc lights

I love that I can use my APP or just say, "Alexa, dim my lights to this level" and boom!

Could just be the LED lights I have, your results may vary)

I find the switches to be solid with good wiring connections.

They will configure and work for less than a minute then they lose connection.

The electrical connections were straight forward and the connection to my home network went well after I switched the installation procedure from an iPhone to an Androde device

Once installed, connection to the app (which is great by the way) is super easy

Buzzing sound while incandescent lights are dimmed is annoying

My one complaint is that when the switch turns on and off via the app or a schedule it makes a fairly noisy "click" sound.

Dimmer controls 10 Leds (About 5w each) have very noisy buzzing sound when i stand next to it

I really wanted to like these, but after installing my first one tonite, and experiencing the cheap feeling of the build quality of the switch, experiencing multiple failures with the iOS app and noticing that the app doesn't always track the switch state, I am going to remove the one switch that I installed and replace it with a Lutron dimmer, and replace seven other non-remote Luton dimmers with the Luton dimmers that I ordered tonite after deciding to abandon the Leviton dimmers

Not a difficult fix, but it can be frustrating if it's not working and you don't know why.

Been on the phone with Leviton throughout the day and have not had a fix for it yet, very frustrating.

If this ‘offline bug’ is fixed for good I will bring this review back up to 5 stars
