Reviews around work (4.49 of 5)

  • man."The hardware works great with GarageBand, (for that I give them one star) but I have several years of time-investment and files with Cubase which has served me well until now.
  • With an amp or pre-amp of some sort though, these problems can easily be worked around.
  • The only thing I dislike is the difficulties I've had with Cakewalk Sonar to record audio, rest with the other programs works perfect
  • Monitor mixer is very helpful and the unit works with Windows 7 versions.
  • The product works perfectly, it was easy to set up and install the software and get my computer and recording equipment working together

Reviews around sound (4.26 of 5)

  • People saying that the sound is not good or bla bla bla.
  • When I connected anything directly into my laptop's onboard analog sound input, it sounded tinny, like my crappy onboard sound was trying to compress the signal or something, and wiggling the cable around just a tiny bit induced ear-splitting artifacts.
  • I continue to be impressed that MP3s sound so good through this unit
  • i used this for around two years, the sound get poor after a while but its good to make sounds louder for beat making so you can hear the bass better
  • Of course it doesn't do magic, but it plays MP3s much better than my computers noisy internal sound card, and better than anything else I have tried

Reviews around record (3.98 of 5)

  • I'm using this for portable multi-track recording with my Galaxy Note 2 using Audio Evolution (requires USB Audio Recorder Pro from same company)
  • The sound prevents it from sounding like a clean, crisp, professional recording
  • Despite the hiss, its a good solid beginner interface that you can use to get ideas down and do some amateur recording with, as well as throw in your backpack without worrying about it breaking
  • so recording was a pain
  • This is a nice little recording box and it is powered by the usb cable so you don't need to 'plug it in'.

Reviews around price (3.92 of 5)

  • The price was right, but it arrived in non-working condition
  • This little item does exactly what it says it does, is compact and has all connections that I need for a great price
  • It works well at a great price, but so does the Behringer at a lower price.
  • , I'll probably get another, even though they're out of stock, seeing as I damaged mine.
  • For a portable sound mixer at an affordable price, you can't go wrong, plus it comes with Cubase

Reviews around product (3.80 of 5)

  • This product was defective when i got it, it respond quickly enough and the worst part is that it doesn't have phantom power aint that some BULL!!!!!!!!!!
  • Cubase LE 4 may be Steinberg's "lightest" version of this software but it still is among the most capable products of its type & is the only way you can use the Lexicon pro quality "Pantheon" VST reverb plugin included with the product
  • Would gladly sell mine if I could find someone who'd give me what it's worth, but it's also not a bad enough product to simply give it away.
  • product works but it is not comparable with Cubase recording studio ,
  • not.sure if the software is defective or not.prerecorded tracks filed then played back, wont playback.its an electronic labyrinth of confusion that takes weeks to figure out and it still doesn't work right.you should be working on your music not reading manuals and confounding instructions that don't match up.i don't recommend this product.

Reviews around interface (3.55 of 5)

  • It is ok if you want a cheap, working USB interface, but it's not good for much
  • Overall, this isn't a horrible interface, however I would not suggest it for recording vocals
  • I spent more money for this Lexicon USB interface, thinking it would be less hassles than the $20 or $30 cheaper interfaces from other companies
  • I've used this interface off and on throughout the past year and I love it
  • For the money, this is a great interface for the budding producer

Reviews around thing (3.30 of 5)

  • , I'll probably get another, even though they're out of stock, seeing as I damaged mine.
  • I do christian rap music as a hobby this thing is great for me!!
  • One thing I don't like is that the output level is linked to both the headphone and line
  • This product is the worst thing I have ever bought on Amazon
  • I really can't say enough good things about this little thing.

Reviews around device (3.25 of 5)

  • :DThe Lexicon Alpha audio interface works as advertised using the well known ASIO4ALL universal device driver
  • Due to updates with OSX, El Captain doesn't support this device, basically meaning that it's better used as a paperweight than anything else to mac users.
  • This might be a fine device in noisy environments where you'd never notice the whine, but it's useless if you want crystal clear audio in more discerning settings
  • The device itself works fine, though it creates some issues with my iMac's sound car sometimes, but I suspect it to be the computer's fault and not the Lexicon.
  • In a world of "plug and play" options I found the Lexicon Alpha USB sound card to be an overly complex device to hookup, install and use.

Reviews around driver (3.19 of 5)

  • I use this driver with the Lexicon Alpha on a Win7 Pro 64-bit platform and it has worked flawlessly, even on some software not designed to use ASIO (though it took some work to get the driver settings right!).I would also note that the power capability of some USB ports might be an issue, requiring external USB power
  • , I'll probably get another, even though they're out of stock, seeing as I damaged mine.
  • :DThe Lexicon Alpha audio interface works as advertised using the well known ASIO4ALL universal device driver
  • Proprietary drivers from manufacturers can be poorly written meaning they have compatibility problems depending on one's specific combination of hardware, audio software, sound card, and OS
  • had this for a few years now, worked best on windows xp , the newer drivers for windows 7 were terrible and gave me

Reviews around unit (2.98 of 5)

  • The unit is easy to install and works very well with the included software Cubase LE 4.
  • All and all a good unit, just be prepared for installation hassles.
  • As it turns out, it wasn't a faulty unit, but I had to upgrade my OS (Mavericks)
  • The unit is also really quiet, I don't notice any noise from it
  • This unit worked well for me, I was using it for sound measurement for SMART

Reviews around way (2.98 of 5)

  • The Lexicon Alpha has no problems at all putting out a robust signal that way
  • Either way, these problems have been extremely minor and should not deter you from considering this product
  • Like the title says, this is great for those starting out, just messing around with Garageband or Cubase, or an amateur just wanting a cheap, convenient way to record
  • This noise was making its way to my recordings too :-(For what ended up being less than twice the price of the Behringer I decided to try this unit
  • It's a great simple way to hook up my KRK rokits to my laptop with balanced cables, and a microphone if I ever feel like using it

Reviews around condition (2.75 of 5)

  • I'm in love works perfect great condition excellent service..
  • I like the product because it is easy to use, is easily transportable, excellent condition with the necessary functions for private and Cadre.
  • , I'll probably get another, even though they're out of stock, seeing as I damaged mine.
  • If I had money to burn I'd definitely go for something higher-end, but on my budget this box now works fine
  • Also works as a D-to-A for monitoring or if you want to hook your laptop to a PA system

Reviews around noise (1.82 of 5)

  • I couldn't record anything , I use a dynamic K&K Mic , the hiss only goes away when I connect it to the line 2 input in the back , which disconnects the XLR input , but the volume was very low , and when I amplify it by audio software I get loud noise as usual
  • At an input level high enough for a reasonable volume range, the noise is fairly prominent
  • I was amazed the unit produced the same noisy white noise in between words
  • Likewise, D/A conversion is similarly clean and noise-free, with tons of gain.
  • , I'll probably get another, even though they're out of stock, seeing as I damaged mine.

Reviews around time (1.62 of 5)

  • I found myself wasting more time editting this product's mistakes instead of recording
  • The first time I tried it, I noted another fault on the Hi-Z input
  • I can't believe I even wasted my time with this product
  • Don't waste the time or money.
  • This is my first attempt at digital recording and had a impossible time (using Vista)with the software that came with this product

Reviews around review (1.24 of 5)

  • Any negative reviews are coming from people expecting $300 worth of options and performance from a $50 device
  • After receiving this item as a gift, I was unable to get the drivers to work with Reaper DAW (I'm running Windows 7 in 64bit), and on further investigation on their forums, found a slew of poor reviews of this product's hardware (such as the volume knob developing crackling issues after only a very short time) and software.
  • I rarely return things or write reviews but my experience with this product was so exasperating that it was begging for a negative review
  • But my guess is that the problem I encountered is what is behind some of the bad reviews here on Amazon, and I would also guess that even though the problem's apparently dependent on the particular computer used, it could and should be fixed to improve this model
  • I experienced everything in the bad reviews right out of the box.
