For the price, this is a fantastic display, but the slight IPS glow is why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5.Another thing to note, I was worried that 4k on a monitor this size would be overkill for gaming
When the trading day is done I can watch Netflix full screen flicker free 4K 60 hz or use it for photo editing with an image as sharp as my MBPr display .Brightness, split screens and on-screen adjustments, in every way superior to the Samsung U28E590D monitor that I bought last week and have already returned.
But after waiting 9 months and seeing absolutely nothing else on the market that was as good as of a fit for my xbox one x, I decided to buy this monitor.
Love the pivot vertical display setting, as it allows me to view CNBC or Bloomberg TV with HDMI-HDMI cable in 3840x2160 30hz on the top screen while viewing my charts in 4K 60hz with the DP-mDP (thunderbolt 2) cable on the bottom screen
I am a casual Battlefield 1 (FPS) gamer, and my K/D ratio as well as the overall number of K's has improved with this monitor.

If you care about your monitor lasting for a long time, avoid using HDR Vivid (and HDR Effect mode) because they heavily rely on post-processing to create the amazing colors, contrast, brightness, but they are bad for your monitor's life-expectancy
but if you don't care about accuracy and how you are losing life expenctancy of your monitor due to post processing, HDR Vivid can be spectacular with fantastic colors
Most of my games I play on this bad boy are very bright which it does an amazing job at displaying bright colors and HDR content
UHD looks fantastic and with HDR enabled videos and games absolutely pop; it really is difficult to describe just how good colors look
i think this moniter is slower but vs the samsung moniter my game play has not suffered at allFor the PC guys sorry im a console guy but do listen to me its not too too bright and coloring is lacking vs that samsung eu590 moniter i used before hand

oh and the stand feels cheap
I like the monitor, and the stand is great because of its height and how it can be adjusted; I no longer need a seperate stand
Adjustable stand is fantastic - now that I have it, I would not buy a monitor without it
The build quality and material's used are average, adjustable stand is very nice, has no external speakers and the 5ms response time are not worth the price or limited features.

This fact also means that the HDR is lackluster; since this monitor doesn't have "true" HDR, it has to max out the backlight, resulting in blacks becoming a dark gray, and frankly, 100% backlight is painfully bright, especially in a darkened room

I put off buying this for several months because of everyone making comments like "fake HDR" - it kind of got me down a bit.

Any games for the Xbox one X that are not enhanced do not upscale well
I thought the LG looked 10 times better!One of the reasons I got this monitor was for the HDR, and for those who think it isn't good because it isn't "true HDR 1000nit brightness", itlooks amazing, and most games look really good (MH World looks awful)
I probably sit about 2' away from it.- HDR enabled games look great, as does netflix.- Non-HDR enabled games look great as well
I wanted a nice 4k screen for doing work during the day that had the ability to be used with my Xbox One X and PS4 Pro for evenings and weekends.
a display port cable was needed to use 4k at 60hzthe negative: there is a little glow around the edges in dark scenes and black screens, ips glow i think its called, my past 2 monitors had this as well, though i think this is worse
Great screen for Xbox one x, all boxes checked 4k looks great, hdr works automatically and not too dark, as of the new update, Freesync works on the Xbox as well

" HDRDoes not have built in speakersAbout the input lag
Works perfectly for Playstation Pro, Input lag isn't noticeable for consol gamers.
Its actually Freesync 2 which decreases input lag and increases HDR performance as well as supporting console/monitor synchronization at much lower framerates!
The picture quality absolutely crushes my 50" 4k vizio thanks to HDR and the input lag when gaming when freesync is on is non-existent
