I bought this to rip audio CDs.

it reads and writes CD and DVD like a charm

I burned a music CD with no problems.

I began hunting around for a decent-quality USB CD Drive after opting for a desktop case that did not include a standard CD Drive slot

Works well burning CDs on my i7 Macbook Pro running Yosemite

The cd's that it burns have come out absolutely phenomenal

never had issues with these cd/dvd players, this is our 3rd due to theft but they perform well and we can use them on any of our laptops since they are then models that didn't come with cd/dvd player, as well as some of our trainers/vendors with similar model PC's that are lacking cd/dvd players.

I bought this 4 months ago when the disc drive stopped working in my IMac (OS 10.7.5) and use it to play and burn CDs and play DVDs

cheap, works fine to rip the occasional audio CD (my only use case for it)

I use mine to rip CDs, so for that purpose I can give this drive 5 stars

I have not used it to burn a CD yet, but I also bought it for that as well.

It has a very good cd burn speed

Burned 5 audio Cd's using iTunes and it worked flawlessly

I ripped about 40 CDs with it

I couldn't even rip a cd to my laptop

I ripped a CD and it was fine, then tried ripping an 8 CD set and it runs and runs, not actually progressing

I do want to clarify that even though it is labeled as a portable DVD Rewriter, this will read and burn CDs as well

I also have the same problem with my older Mini that has a CD RW drive (though that internal drive works fine)

I've only used it once and it took forever to rip a CD into iTunes.

So far I think this is the best cd/dvd enclosure yet for the money

Bluray drive to rip cd's if sound quality matters

Recognized CD's and DVD's with no problem and burns them as well

Possibly a better CD player might have gone faster or had the ability to read through the scratches.

Those CD are well-known cesspools of crapware

When I got this unit I hooked to computer and ran software and was able to make copies of my dick CD's

absolute garbage, save your money and buy the original, it begins with the cd getting jammed inside the hard drive, after you overcome all the jams, it ends with the cd failing every time you try to make the boot camp connection

I imported extremely old CD's that were scratched up from the late 90's and every song came through clear

Needed a inexpensive low profile cd/dvd drive and this fit the bill perfectly

But I tried on a Mini-PC that has no CD drive and worked just fine.

Both importing a CD and burning a mixed CD for my car.

I have had success burning CDs with it using both Windows Media Player and iTunes.

It can really vibrate when it has a clean CD and can run at full speed, so a little weight on top of it helps with this.

I bought this as a replacement for an internal drive that died horribly and destroyed a CD

It's kind of annoying that it powers down as soon as a CD is finished ripping, and the drawer will no longer open unless I unplug it and plug it back into the USB port, but for the price I can live with that.

I primarily use it for watching DVD's and burning music CD's and it works great for both
