Easy to install, just put the disc in and it will run automatically

It made some screeching, ticking, beeping and at one point it started stuttering and sound like it was scratching up the disc

This is a decent, affordable disc drive/

No matter which DVD I try to play, I get the error message that the disc is damaged and cannot be read

I would be afraid to ever put an important disc inside or try to burn something to a blank disc

The best I can figure is that the internal drive is working just enough for the computer to still see it (just spits out any disk you put in) and the disc burning process is getting confused

It sounds like the disc is rubbing against something internally

Sometimes the computer wouldn't recognize the drive, sometime it wouldn't read discs, sometimes it would fail in the middle of burning a disc

Does the job and alright, is a bit slower than a normal built in DVD drive while reading and burning discs but again haven’t had any issues with playback

I can just keep it in a drawer when not using it (though it looks nice enough to just leave on the desk all the time) and when I want to burn a disc, it's plug and play!

The best thing about this is that it read my totally scratched up install discs that older drives wouldn't!

Sometimes it works great, other times it won't open, read the disc, or burn correctly

Two other short discs worked fine.

Once selected I was able to import music to iTunes and burn discs with ease

Just be careful when moving this thing you don't want to scratch the disc while the disk is loaded inside of it

i use this disc drive with my imac & have had no significant problems with reading or burning discs

I already burned 3 DVD -R discs w/o any issues.

After less than a year and incredibly light use (I think I burned 10 discs, and that was it), it's going in the trash

Due to the short cord, it also fell when I was trying a brand new disc to see if the disc was the problem
