I might add that this player was not compatible with my old (very old) led TV, and I ended up having to buy a new TV as well.
If I had it to do all over, I would have sent this back and just bought a smart TV to begin with, but I was determined to make this work!!
Overall, if you already have a Smart TV or other means to stream content (Fire Stick, Roku, Apple TV, etc.) then this is the player is hard to beat for the price.
I was very happy to find a "dumb" Blu-ray player since I already have a Smart TV and a Roku player
Also, my TV keeps loosing the signal from the DVD player, maybe the same thing as I already described.

The wifi is easy to set up, but the smart phone app is a little problematic.
I especially like the ability to control it with my Galaxy S5 and listen to anything I'm watching through the headphones on my smart phone without bothering anybody
Also advertised ability to link with smart phone app for private headphone listening which works but LAGS badly on streamed and broadcast media, making it useless for that purpose
Easy set up, really couldn't care less about the "smart" features, as my LG has the new WebOS, which is freaking awesome.
