The UBK80 is an ideal source component for an in-home cinema experience. This sleek deck is compatible with playback of 4K Ultra HD discs, as well as, the support of legacy Blu-ray and standard DVDs.
This player is nice because it does connect to the Internet, it has excellent picture quality, and the price was right
But quality wise, the picture looks great on our television, and both YouTube and Netflix stream just as well as they would on a device like the PS3 or the Wii
On top of that, the build quality is very very cheap, and even the disc tray doesn't work well (sometimes it refuses to close, for example)
I have tried changing the HDMI cable to a high quality monster cable that costs as much as this Blue ray player and it still doesn't work
The USB port on the front allows me to play just about any files on a USB drive or external hard drive
When accessing your USB external Hard Drive, you can play movies or watch pictures, but note that the media player will only remember your specific movie spot when the movie stays selected.
I also can hook this up to my 1 TB (terabyte) external hard drive and play movies off of it.
You can also hook up an External hard drive or USB drive full of media files and it will play them
Supports thumb drives (so you can take all that stuff off your hard drive and play it on the player without burning it or setting up a stream)
USB playback is much faster than disk with blue-ray, even with USB hard drive
