Bought this as a replacement for my WRT54G router that finally died after 10 years of use
Overall it's a good router for the price paid but I have to give it 3 stars due to the somewhat spotty coverage in the house while upstairs, and the speed can sometimes be slow as well
I live in a fairly large house, and it seems impossible to have good coverage throughout the house without some sort of repeater.

Installation was easy, and that's about where the good ended
Easy installation router came in handy for PC and Xbox one!
On a side note the installation of this one was super easy though, only plus for this router.
The installation was a nightmare but with several calls to tech support, my internet provider and my techie family member it finally works and is just fine.

Likely culprit(s) are heat, dust, and possible interference from a cordless phone
If you update or unplug the router, just make sure to reset the modem as well as you will get subpar speeds...in my case I would get 16Mb download if I don't reset
The wireless printer was not working without being plugged into the computer but now it works as it should.
It exhausts heat from underneath, and there is a little nipple-type foot that holds it up just enough to vent - maybe a quarter inch.
Nothing special, doesn't have an incredible range, but works as it is supposed to

After reading the various forums and what was on the Linksys website, I made a number of changes (separate the 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz channels, modify the MTU code, making sure you have the latest firmware), I was able to up my download to 13-15 Meg (saw 20 meg one time).

Linksys was my go to brand because I loved my WRT54G, but ever since cisco took over it just became crap.
5 ghz was basically unusable to me in certain key places, like my office and bedroom, which are at opposite ends of the house.
Of course the 2.4 Ghz was dreadfully slow, but only the older devices used that band.

I went "Applications & Gaming"/QOS and disabled WMM as people have mentioned and it did have a bit of an impact on the speed, but not the super amount I expected.
After reading the reviews for this router, someone suggested turning off WMM which boosted their speed even more
this point, I could have re-installed the original Linksys firmware for the router, and tested whether disabling WMM Support would fix the network stability issues.
Also, R. Palm's review about disabling WMM Support is spot on.

Performing a hard reset of the router returned these things, but it was unclear to me why simply trying to set a new password would cause such huge problems in the functionality of the router

THE SAME TIME (to most peoples' knowledge, this doesn't exist in consumer electronics)-Antennae are internal -- some people will find this nice, others bad-It's CISCO firmware on LINKSYS Broadcom hardware
I know some people claim that Linksys does not work with Mavericks but works fine on my system.
I'm not sure what the people who are talking about this being hard to install have been dealing with, but it's not been my experience
Actually what's most helpful is knowing that many people have similar issues with all kinds of makes and models.
So seriously do not trust the freaking people who were paid to leave 5 star reviews and hopefully linksys or whatever the company name is, doesnt pay amazon to remove my realistic review.
