Reviews around tech support (5.00 of 5)

  • and I’m faced with round two of tech support nightmare.
  • Tech support told me distance between nodes should be no more than 20-25 feet, unless you live in a "perfect" house, that is, no walls, no interference from other electrical devices
  • I made one call to tech support for a quick answer and was very please with the experience.
  • I spent over eight hours on the phone with tech support just to get it to work

Reviews around house (5.00 of 5)

  • I have a compact two story house and this product does not cover what it claims to cover.
  • I may be returningI ordered this for myself & the 2 pack as a house warming gift

Reviews around system (4.40 of 5)

  • If you can run ethernet cables to each node I highly recommend the Ubiquiti UniFi system instead.
  • An affordable mesh system for basic Internet accounts is a wonderful idea, but it needs to work
  • Not a bad system
  • This is in theory a great home wifi system, I tried to implement coming over from a google wifi mesh system and let's just say the Velop is back in the box, the google wifi is back connected
  • Three stars because it is a decent system, but just that.

Reviews around coverage (4.21 of 5)

  • The zones between nodes was unreliable, and the coverage wasn't any better than I had before
  • For the price, I'd rather just buy a single WIFI router.....it would work better and provide more reliable coverage.
  • Didn't work as they say
  • I got better coverage from a single standalone top end wifi system.
  • Secondly, it appeared a mesh system would solve the periodic issues we had, such as getting consistent WiFi coverage in the home and reducing buffering

Reviews around work (4.03 of 5)

  • Now that it's deployed, the Velop system seems to be working great.
  • Adding different router did work but switching from one to another is not smooth and some device tends to stick to one even though there are much better access point around
  • So far it has worked great and the lag I was experiencing before was now almost nonexistent and the picture is great.
  • I reconfigured these to a new space , and they are still working perfect
  • cheaper.,with that being said this works very well right now

Reviews around linksys (3.75 of 5)

  • Nice job Linksys!
  • The Linksys is compact enough ( l actually love the size) but so far have been really inconsistent and within 15 minutes started losing the signal and then reconnecting
  • Fortunately it was not as bad as I

Reviews around setup (3.66 of 5)

  • Three:-only the Linksys Velop-node 1 in middle of house-node 2 on outside wall closest to garageeverything wirelessMy preferred setup is one-only the Netgear R6700
  • The only negative was the setup
  • I don't mind less user-friendly setup through the web browser and wired connection on the Netgear
  • Setup of the first node was dead
  • Setup was fairly easy but finding a place for the second unit was difficult

Reviews around wifi (3.28 of 5)

  • We have gigabit fiber to our home, so this definitely was WiFi-limited, not internet-limited, and suggests the eero is doing a better job using wireless backhaul
  • This has definitely boosted the wifi so that it works better in the
  • Another benefit of going with a mesh system was no longer having to differentiate between bands when adding new WiFi compatible goods

Reviews around ease (3.22 of 5)

  • It doesn’t work as it should, it’s essentially engineering beta level product and not ready for actual usage
  • Didn't work as they say
  • Compact styling and ease of setup are worth considering the Velop over a router/extender system
  • I had to spend several hours with tech support on the phone getting it to work as it should.
  • In the end, everything worked as it should and the support folks were helpful.

Reviews around signal (3.14 of 5)

  • Attractive and easy to set up, I was disappointed when my Ring doorbell (about 25 feet away from the main node) complained of poor signal strength
  • I reinstalled my old system and once again we have a strong signal
  • I installed a three piece system and added two more units to get as strong a signal as possible to my master bedroom where I do most of my 4K movie watching via Apple TV.
  • In my 3300 sq ft house I needed 5 of them to give all my devices a good strong signal.
  • The Linksys is compact enough ( l actually love the size) but so far have been really inconsistent and within 15 minutes started losing the signal and then reconnecting

Reviews around idea (3.04 of 5)

  • It doesn’t work as it should, it’s essentially engineering beta level product and not ready for actual usage
  • An affordable mesh system for basic Internet accounts is a wonderful idea, but it needs to work
  • I also found it’s a good idea to have each note plugged into a battery back up so that if you lose power they will continue to work as long as your modem has an Internet connection as well
  • In the end, everything worked as it should and the support folks were helpful.
  • Fortunately it was not as bad as I

Reviews around band (3.04 of 5)

  • For 200$ You can buy a good tri band MU-MIMO router that will outperform this
  • This is the dual-band version, and is not compatible with other versions (tri-band) of Velop
  • In the end, everything worked as it should and the support folks were helpful.
  • Didn't work as they say
  • The third band is useful for the nodes to communicate with each other, and this new model strips it out in favor of a minimalist design

Reviews around zone (1.00 of 5)

  • Summarized result: all dead zones within the 1600 square foot (ranch-style) home were eliminated
  • Some outdoor locations where I would like to also have a signal still have dead zones, pending additional tests over the coming days
  • The zones between nodes was unreliable, and the coverage wasn't any better than I had before
