Reviews around quality (5.00 of 5)

  • The build quality is pretty solid, especially for this price point
  • Can get very loud indeed and has the firm, rich sound of a vacuum tube amp.- Nice sound quality, though I have yet to burn mine in

Reviews around thing (5.00 of 5)

  • Every thing works and it sounds great but the front glass came broken and the package was terrible to open
  • If you are thinking about buying this---do not hesitate, my guess is that this is an introductory price of $70 to bring it to market and will go way up after more people hear it and realize what they have-----THIS thing is AWESOME!!!!!
  • Being a tube amp it is susceptible to microphonics, turn-on pops, clicks and static and RFI/EMI interference, especially from cell phones but all those things can be worked around to reward you with glorious true high-end HIFI sound

Reviews around connection (5.00 of 5)

  • Except mine also had the headphone jack problem that others have experienced and could not get a good connection with 4 different sets of headphones
  • One of them makes a solid connection, finally.
  • This amp sounds great, as long as your 3.5mm jacks are making a solid connection.

Reviews around case (5.00 of 5)

  • It has spent most of its life in a little-used drawer, in a protective case, presumably waiting for its turn to shine.
  • Very robust case, perfect for travel.

Reviews around dampen (5.00 of 5)

  • (They do glow nicely when the device is on.)- Smooth volume dial with unexpectedly good heft and nice dampening, does not spin too easily like other portable

Reviews around midrange (5.00 of 5)

  • This amp excels in the warm lush midrange and smooth clear highs---the bass is "better" with the Oppo---I just eq in more bass when I use the Little Bear

Reviews around difference (5.00 of 5)

  • After spending a little time and doing a careful comparison between iMac->Grados vs iMac->Tube Amp->Grados, I can say that this actually makes quite a big difference and really improves the sound.
  • Beyer Dynamic DT770 Pros, and the difference is immense

Reviews around tube (4.16 of 5)

  • While I wouldn't accuse this portable tube amp of damaging the sound of my music in any way, I really don't find it enhances it either.
  • However, for a very portable tube amp, it's quite astonishing
  • I have listened to very expensive tube and Class A solid state amps and this little tube amp comes closer to them than to the myriad of cheap solid state and tube amps that abound
  • This is my introduction into portable tube headphone amps, so all i have to compare this to is a FiiO Killamanjaro 2 headphone amp
  • Also, the tubes jingle audibly if the unit is bumped

Reviews around bass (3.75 of 5)

  • (I've tried it with IEM's as well as Sennheiser HD 558's, and overall the bass is much more pleasant - it gives the impression of a bass boost, but not as obnoxious or in-your-face as the Killamanjaro's bass boost

  • The little bear did just what I hopped, the bass no longer bleeds into the mids

Reviews around state (3.61 of 5)

  • I have listened to very expensive tube and Class A solid state amps and this little tube amp comes closer to them than to the myriad of cheap solid state and tube amps that abound
  • Now, you can't expect it to be at the price, but it is quite smeary and fuzzy compared to a reasonable solid state amp at the same price or less
  • I have listened to very expensive tube and Class A solid state amps and this little tube amp comes closer to them than to the myriad of cheap solid state and tube amps that abound
  • I don't detect (that tube magic, or difference from solid state), but that said its a good little amp
