The LD MK2 does bring out the higher frequencies on the MK3's. vs Solid State amp

However, with the stock tubes, it doesn't sound much different from a good solid state amp

I still think the Bravo is Avery good preamp, but I'm sticking with the Little Dot for now and using the Bravo as a headphone amp

The LD mk2 unfortunately does not drive my Fostex MK3 to its full potential, don't waste your money here (maybe when i change out the power tubes)

my littledot mk ii just arrived in the mail, I know the tubes require 48 to 72 hours of burn in with music, but just right off the bat after a minute of listening to this awesome amplifier, it sounds so good

First thing I noticed the default gain was a bit low, then I tried setting the gain to max at ten, this made the Carbon volume a lot higher, but introduced a pretty significant buzz from the tubes

I would describe it as very smooth, but a bit recessed, I replaced the Bravo Ocean with the little dot, the Bravo had a lot more gain and the bass was a bit stronger, but the music was a bit more rougher and had a more etched feel

I do use bass EQ on my sony player and use the studio setting which yields a better spaced out soundstage which works great on most of my headphones without causing sound issues, stunning on Grados

As to the sound it has an analog beautiful sound overall, very smooth sweet treble with the Jan5654w tubes and gorgeous bass, just enough, mids are just right, not to forward not recessed just in the middle

The Bass on my new HD650's sounded quite muddy but my T50RP's clearly liked the Little Dot more than the headphone outs from my Sony STR-DH130 Stereo Receiver and my Onkyo TX SR504 AV

I have some too-expensive headphones, and it works great in headphone amp mode too

I bought the Little Dot MK2 Headphone Amp to power my Sennheiser HD600 and HD650 headphones, as well as my Fostex T50RP mk3's

They work well with high impedance headphones such as Sennheiser HD 600 makes a great combo for the tube amp in this device My experience with these matters is limited to pre amp/headphone Amp combos like this

So I got the headphones and was immediately blown away by the quality of bass and overall richness in sound they offered compared to the generally bright and treble concerned nature of the AKG cans I owned

The only affordable tube amp that was tubes for the pre-amp and power

If anyone knows of some good tubes that work with this amp please let me know.

Only complaint about packaging is that they used packing tape to secure the tubes which left sticky residue on them.

I believe that the LD Mk2 should already sell with good sounding tubes not these chinese crap drivers

but they do put out a tad less power than the super tubes
