Cheap imitation of a cast iron skillet lodge has always turned out a great product but they missed on this one.

In CI because the delicate fish will not tolerate the heat retained by the CI (an asset when searing steak) and will fall apart when flipped.(4) Avoid (particularly before your CI becomes super well-seasoned) using the same pan for savory and sweet as the CI does retain flavors; in other words, using the CI to bake a vanilla cake immediately the day after using it to make garlic chicken may make your vanilla a tad too garlicky!(5) Avoid using CI to cook foods that require lengthy periods of simmering, boiling, or steaming as the lengthy simmering, boiling, or steaming will strip your CI of its hard-earned seasoning

If you know how to use cast iron (heat for 5 min before use, maintain a proper seasoning etc) you will love this pan

I brushed off the rust and gave it a good seasoning with vegetable oil

No more rust problem.)To season the pan, use a paper towel to completely coat the pan with canola oil or another low flash-point temperature vegetable oil.

Rust is not a flaw, you just have to scrub it off and reseason.

and if you do this it almost works like a non-stick pan in my view

I and need a little more work than cooking with a non-stick pan

I have replaced my non-stick pan and started using this for Dosa's.

I ordered this pan because I started to avoid non-stick pans after knowing the disadvantages of it

But it does not make the same crispy dosas like a non-stick pan.
