Lodge Pro-Logic 12 Inch Square Cast Iron Griddle. Pre-Seasoned Grill Pan with Dual Handles

    • I was somewhat concerned about the rough finish of the cooking surface -- I have an ancient cast iron skillet my grandmother gave me and its cooking surface is as smooth as glass -- but after using this Lodge pan, man, nothing is sticking.
    • Maybe they'll "get it" some day and recognize that even a cheap T-Fal finish would suffice for those of us who don't really care if the paint chips but don't want the cooktop to stop conducting heat evenly from all the damage of cast iron.
    • Ordered this to make some pancakes since the picture shows a smooth finish
    • Cleaning also is difficult because of the rough finish, even though I have seasoned it three times
    • I don't like the pebble finish, everything sticks
    • (I don't care for the rough finish/seasoning on the new pans/griddles)
    • I did an experiment with one of my Lodge pans and turned the heat up on the stovetop and burnt the finish really badly
    • A smooth finish on the surface of the griddle would make it easier to to establish the perfect seasoning that is the great pleasure of cast iron.
    • My one complaint about modern Lodge cast iron cookware is the pebbly finish they leave on the cook surface.
    • I didn't care for the rough casting finish
    • This pebbly finish makes it difficult to cook certain things, like eggs or pancakes, unless you have them floating on a pool of grease of some sort (bacon fat, butter, oil, etc).
    • Finish was horrible
    • Sturdy I love it
