The construction doesn't seem flimsy, but I do think that if you are rough on headsets it could be an issue

That being said, the cord has a very strong braided construction which has shown no signs of wear since i got these headphones

The construction of the headphones however is not bad, and feels very comfortable when properly adjusted.
