The height might be good for miking higher up, like close miking on toms or snare or a low cymbal.
Overall, this is an extremely versatile little stand, with a very nice height variance that would actually make it work for some low seating positions when used from the floor, if you were in a situation that required it

Fell apart after only one use...on a kick drum, not even any abuse.

The construction is excellent, unlike some other small stands I have purchased recently, it does not feel like the adjustment knobs or other components are going to break easily.

But it is a plastic knob with a metal screw peace, so even if the knob breaks at some point, I should be able to find something else to attach to the screw and keep right on going

The wait on the end of the arm is not that significant, but the base is very heavy, and the pole screws in at an offset, so you really aren't relying on the weight to balance the stand
