From the very first time I used this ( although it looked essentially brand new) there was a strong burning smell and it did not function properly!

The blender tends to have a burning smell

I started smelling burning plastic and seeing black specs on the counter

I mean it burnt out, and smelled terrible.... hmmm

Mine will cut off before it finished a single serving and smells terrible

there was the same bad smelling smoke

The smell was terrible too

Upon first use - the machine did not blend at all and began smoking and had a burnt plastic smell

The final time I used it, it literally started smoking and you could smell the like a burnt rubber smell

I tried to use it tonight and the blades weren’t turning and a funny (re: burning electronic) smell came from it

after my previous bullet died in a poof of bad smelling smoke last summer

It can't operate for more than a minute before it starts smelling like burning wires

AND it is sooooo loud and starts smelling like it is burning really quickly.
