It is easy to tight down onto my car air vent and it also tightens the swivel on the face of the holder so that it holds my phone firmly at the angle I choose

I tried few different air vent mount

However, like others have reported, the part that clamps onto the air vent is not tight enough and snaps off when tightened too much

The only negative I have found is that because it is so close to the air vent, any hot air coming from that vent will also heat up your phone which of course could be a concern.

Works great in my Mini Cooper which has air vents that are somewhat non-standard so typical clip-on models don't hold as well.

I like the "active" clamp mechanism that tightly squeezes the fin of an air vent

I prefer the twist-lock version of this rather than the clip-on version because I don't like it when my phone is too close to the air vent

Found a well located ledge to rest the phone on just below the air vent.

The lever allows me to clamp the device onto the air vent, and it stays

but the clip is too big to fit in the air vent on that position.

Before this mount, I had a spring bracket which also connected to air vents but that was annoying since it wasn't easy to attach and detach the phone.

This has worked out very well with my iPhone 7-plus in a Chevy Suburban air vent

I can see the phone at better angles because each car has different air vent angles

(Not the magnet - which is very strong and the same on both versions) but since the attachment was just a slit that slid on to the air vent

This mount is designed to grip your air vents but it slipped off constantly and when I tried to apply enough tension for it stay, it cracked.

The magnet works well to hold the phone to this, but at least on my car, I cannot get this to stop slipping off the small air vents

You need to design some kind of clamp that will hold good on the air vent and some of the air vent has a louver so we can't really cook it on the air vent look at all the air vent in the car

Update review -the clip broke not even worth it!After using for few months the mount that hooks on to the air vent came really loose.

However, since then WizGear has contacted me and sent me an updated version of their product which is awesome and secures to my car air vent perfectly

It attaches easily and securely to the air vent and doesn't interfere with my use of the air conditioning.

Worked okay, but once we started using it, I realized it's not great to block an air vent in the summer

The twist-lock is fantastic as it grips my air vent

The locking clip makes it perfect for switching between vehicles and for different air vent configurations.

That wing nut thing, seriously has to be tight, so tight I may be concerned with the luver on the air vent

Find that because the clamp does not close parallel but closes on an angle I was limited as to where I could install it so that it wouldn't slip
