I can just set my phone on it no problems at all

The only problem I had is the pads that support the phone on the sides come off quickly (maybe because of sun)

We could not find a decent phone holder for my wife's new Lincoln Nautilus (none of the vent clips would position well, nor would anything stick to the dash well, without being too ugly).

It does not hold my Galaxy S20 in place, the phone will fall out if you hit a bump, and the charging port is covered up in the holder.

I had been looking for a car mount for a long time, the ones that I thought were worth were way out of my budget, I bought this one thinking that for the price it would be just ok, I was amazed to see how strong it gets to the dashboard, a lot work fine attached to the windshield but this one is the best for the dash just above the stereo, it holds a big heavy phone (pixel 3A XL) and really hugs the phone when attached to the mount, instructions were simple and clear, what a great way to enjoy the road dsitraction free, and it looks of great quality.
