This was set at MAX and still not enough heat.

I will keep the defective Elite Cuisine as it does heat enough to melt butter or heat frozen vegetables

Im disappointed...the construction is sturdy, the wiring is well-done and the heater plate is very heavy and retains heat well, but it just wont get hot enough.

The only thing you need to be aware of is that the cooking surface does take a while to cool down but that is also how it maintains such steady heat.

The medium heat is enough for high conductive pans, like aluminum

Cast iron top distributes heat evenly.

While an electric griddle might be a better option for precise temperature control, this hotplate is generally pretty well-made for its price and has a good, multipurpose heating element.

If it doesn't, you lose your S&H, and applicable tax

nice plate, so far works as it should

The burner works great, it heats up the coffee pot as fast as on my stove top at home.

Doesn't get as hot as we would like, but does the job.
