As to the complaint that the hotplate gets hot on the bottom and transfers that heat to the countertop it is sitting on; again, if you're trying to boil a gallon of water, or cook two quarts of chili, you're going to overheat this hotplate, and it's going to transfer that heat

GREAT HOTPLATE USE IT EVERY DAY

I got this after reading numerous reviews on many similar type and even more pricey hotplates

This hotplate is compact, affordable and a good value, and offers great control over heat.

so I basically use this lovely little hotplate for everything that isn't a large quantity to cook such as a huge pot of chili or vegetable soup etc.

I will heartily recommend this to anyone wanting a really good hotplate and a clean looking one as well.

I really like this hotplate.

If I had a decent pan to cook with I could make a more thorough review, but overall I think it is a very handy little hotplate for anyone who needs one.

This hotplate seemed to work

This hotplate worked three times -- and then it died.

This is a nice hotplate, it has a "cast iron" plate and heats evenly

The hotplate did not get very hot and it got 'stained' very quickly.

If it doesn't, you lose your S&H, and applicable tax

nice plate, so far works as it should

The burner works great, it heats up the coffee pot as fast as on my stove top at home.

Doesn't get as hot as we would like, but does the job.
