don't leave a damp pot on top of it 'cause it will rust ... badly!

If I cook in my 12" skillet or my super-large steamer pot, I expect to see longer cook times

bought this for using with Chinese hot pot.

The cook heat came up to temperature faster than the deceased stove's had and in no time I was able to boil large pots of water for pasta, fry eggs, cook in my wok and make all the dishes I was used to cooking on my stove top.

I was so angry because I NEED my herbal tea or I am literally useless after 2pm so losing my ability to boil up a pot of water would totally ruin my life.

Gets hot reasonably fast and I've had no trouble boiling a medium-sized pot of water or sauteing a pretty big pan of veggies

About the only thing it seems weak on is boiling a pot of water, which takes awhile

I bought this item for hot-potting

It takes about 15 min to boil the pot, and took minutes to cook a single thin slice of lamb

It does not however heat up a large pot of water enough to boil pasta

Also when it did work took about 30 minutes to boil a pot of water

received it in the mail and setup hot pot with water to test out if it will bring and hold an easy low simmer/boil.

So with this burner and my stove top espresso pot we had the most delicious coffee every morning.

It's not good for hot pot/shabu-shabu meal because we would need to use a bigger pot.

Just a warning for anyone who intend to use this for Hot pot or Shabu

For safety reasons, it doesn't get THAT hot, but it does eventually boil a big pot of water.

It heats up quickly & once your pot is hot - it stays hot.
