MaxxHaul 70205 12V LED Trailer Light Kit

    • I bout a new wire harness and installed the lights with a decent wire harness
    • Ripped out the old wiring and fixtures, installed these and ran the new wiring and...no marker lights, passenger side tail lights are out but directional works, driver side tail and directionals and brakes work
    • I'll cross that bridge later, just hope the lights work great, I can buy better wiring later.
    • They still function well and the wiring seems fine
    • Very bright but wiring harness had one bad brown wire
    • The lights worked after I installed everything, the one knock I would give it is the wire was just barely long enough for my 21' trailer, couldn't find anything with longer wire.
    • this has got to be the weakest cheapest wire they could possibly find
    • If u purchase buy a better wiring kit
    • Very very very bad wiring.
    • Nice wire harness, great lights.
    • The wire gauge seems adequate for the LED current draw, but the insulation is very low quality and is not robust, I can easily break the wire and insulation while pulling it by hand
    • The white wire on the red led lights was the ground.
    • The wire is corroded and crumbles with the slightest movement
    • the other set was a mix of LED tail and incandescent marker lights and much thinner wiring.
    • Lights seem ok wiring seems cheap would not buy again
    • It pinches the wire inside the housing
    • Just wish license plate bracket was metal instead of plastic and they had thicker tougher wire insulation
    • Once I figured out the correct wiring it worked fine
    • if it does I know the cold winter will break the wiring
    • Lights are great, wiring is junk.
    • Spent time setting it up, and wiring is so poor that I have to purchase a new harness.
    • The wires were very cheaply made and the lights failed the first time I used them
    • I thought the lights were bad but found a bad wire in the harness
    • I bought a new plug to splice in but the wire inside the green wire was brittle and impossible to strip
    • I went to the local H/W store and bought wire so that I could not only ground the frame (just because) but run the ground wire directly to each of the lights.
    • Having to purchase a better wiring harness
    • Extremely poor quality wiring and a non-standard connector plug, are just the beginning for this disappointing trailer light kit
    • I’ve never seen such thin, fragile metallic wiring, except on a
    • The wire is absolute junk
    • Not enough wire for longer trailers, but that's not hard to fix with a little splicing.
    • The wire is so cheap the connector gets unplugged while driving down the road
    • The spices either don't make a connection or they sever the wire completely
    • They leak, the wiring is so thin it turned to
    • I installed on 18 ft. trailer, and had just enough wire.
    • Come on Maxxhaul when wiring a trailer you need the wire be to tough enough to handle anything.
    • Do yourself a favor and buy a good wiring harness and throw the one supplied with the kit in the trash
    • It works okay, but the wire is very cheap and flimsy
    • Furthermore, the wires on the side running lights were very very thin, the yellow, brown, and green wires were slightly thicker, then the actual rear lights wiring was good
    • I cut about 6" off the end of the main wire set (because it's long enough) and wire nutted that wire to the running light wire, then put that wire in the splice connector
    • The wires that come with these are junk.
    • I love the lights, wire is the worst wires I've ever dealt with, now I'm having to rewire and making sure I don't buy this garbage again
    • Just be prepared to get a better wiring harness.
    • Lights are fine but wires are too flimsy and plug quit working on first day
    • Along with that, all wiring was different; some good, most bad
    • When i finally had time to take a look at it, the wires had completely fallen apart
    • Wire is very, very, very cheap
    • It is extremely disappointing to find out after taking the time to install everything that the wire they provide is useless garbage!I have used the trailer 4 times per week for three weeks so far
    • Super thin wire makes it hard to splice together with shrink
    • The wire itself feels cheap, but it works fine
    • No continuity thru the connector for the passenger brake/turn signal wire.
    • I replaced the wiring with real copper wiring and found that the connectors inside the tail lights were just twisted together wire with heat shrink holding them together, unbelievable
    • The lights are nice, but the wiring is worthless!
    • I will spring for a more expensive (better wire) kit next time
    • I still had enough wire to run up the side channels to the side marker lights and ground each one of them locally.
    • Very poor quality wire but decent lights.
    • The wire is really weak, breaks continuously into small pieces, had to rewire the entire trailer again 2 months after buying this
    • Comes with basically everything you need, although I did use a bunch of plastic zip ties to keep the wiring tidy and some flexible plastic tubing to protect the wiring where it hooks up to the towing vehicle
    • It corrodes so quickly that the wire becomes unusable
    • This kit is awesome and comes with just enough wire to do a ~18' trailer
    • I come to the point where I think the wire is bad
    • In less than a year the wires in this kit break off with less effort than breaking a toothpick
    • Lights are great!Wire connectors didn't work
    • Great bright lights with decent wiring otherwise.
    • This kit was well put together, good quality and extra long wiring harness giving me options for routing.
    • The white ground wire broke off without any pressure recently, so I went to re-secure it by stripping back the wire in order to put an eyelet on it.
    • My first set had bad wiring, lights worked very quirky
    • I will spring for a more expensive (better wire) kit next time
    • Horrible...the wires themselves are very cheap
    • Like others, I also experienced the wiring becoming very brittle and developing a powder inside the wire casing
    • Good bright LED's but the wiring is extremly crappy.
    • The wiring was a nightmare
    • The wire itself feels cheap, but it works fine
    • Cheap wire connectors
    • Super thin wire makes it hard to splice together with shrink
    • After only 9 months of being installed on the trailer and have been in the water twice the wires have corroded and split and broke!
    •  The wiring that came with the kit is substandard to say the least, after less than a year in service they turned to powder and can be pulled apart by hand
    • As others have stated, the lights are great, very bright, but the wiring is complete crap.
    • Lights are awesome wired up great
    • After hours of trouble shooting I discovered that the wires at the flat connector where it hooks to the the truck were badly corroded, two of the wires were so bad they could not be stripped back to make a new connection, they just fell apart
    • Worked good for a couple years then the wiring literally fell apart
    • I plan to cover the wires in insulation to protect if from uv damage.
    • The only downside I saw was the flimsy wire that is used for the light itself.
    • Lights work but the wires only lasted a year before rotting very disappointed with the quality
    • I didn't like the wiring though
    • The green and brown wires were fully corroded and fell apart when trying to strip back the insulation.
    • Cheap wiring and splice connectors.
    • Lights work great but wires are so oxidized that it was almost impossible to find enough good wire to make a connection!
    • the wire is very thin no issues yet but that is why I took a star away because the wire isn’t standard trailer
    • The boat is a 16 footer and the wire was enough to make it from one end of the trailer to the other.
    • wire broke off recently, so I went to re-secure it by stripping back the wire in on it
    • Lights work good wiring harness was junk
    • More than enough wire to run the 20' utility trailer I wired
    • Lights themselves are still working just fine, so there is that, and the light leads do not seem to be the same substandard wiring.
    • After only 3 months, the ultra thin copper strands of wire stopped grounding properly and the wire literally corroded and decayed away.
    • Like I previously said, the lights themselves are great, nice and bright, have good wires, are silicone sealed, etc
    • The actual wires broke where I connected the harness wires to the wires from the lights
    • The wire is cheap and corroded feet up from the connections, so bad I was able to break it in half just by pulling on it
    • 3 stars because of the cheap wiring harness included
    • After about 9 months, the wire has corroded internally, and now the entire harness requires replacement
    • Good quality wires
    • Got the lights all installed only to discover that the green wire had no continuity at the trailer plug
    • The wire gauge is pretty small though which is fine for LED but may not be as robust as thicker wire.
    • I was able to reuse the old wire nuts on one side but did not have spare small wire nut and ended up using through connectors (one end) to connect the twisted-together wires with plenty of electrical tape to make the connections weather-tight
    • On less then a year in update, wire snapped and there is no wire left, gauge on wire is possible 20, worked great for one season.
    • The lights are not all LED*Aluminum wiring corrodes and fails*Wires inside tail light twisted together and hidden with heat shrink
    • The wire quick connectors included in the kit are worthless
    • wire is cheap but lights are great
    • I started tracing the wiring back from the plug and the wiring literally was falling apart and deteriorating.
    • The wires Disintegrated and stopped working, installed on trailer that is barn stored
    • but I stripped the ground wire all of the way back into the plug, and couldn't get any clean wire.
    • It's almost like the wire is made of zinc or some other trash metal
    • Hooks up to existing wiring and bright able to see good at night
    • Even the hole on the tag plate is centered but the wires come out the top of the light.
    • The wire broke when I pulled on
    • we'll see how long they actually last before the wires turn to powder like other cheap brands.
    • While the wire worked, the wire itself was impossible to properly solder.
    • the wiring breaks
    • Plus the light wires could be a little longer which would facilitate in finding a good spot for them, especially for the ground wires
    • The wiring that comes with this kit is a joke, I knew that going in and was using my old wiring anyway $17 for led trailer kit is great3 stars cuz the wires won't last a week
    • The other two wires are barely hanging on
    • when I tried stripping the stock wire to make a connection, the wire only would break on me
    • It is now only a little over a year later and the wires have completely oxidized and fallen apart.
    • Buy this kit if you want to re-wire your trailer again in 1 year the wire in this kit turns to powder after a VERY short time, worst wire I have ever seen 0 stars would be a better rating for this kit
    • The lights are not all LED*Aluminum wiring corrodes and fails*Wires inside tail light twisted together and hidden with heat shrink
    • The lights work fine, however the wire that came with the kit is absolute junk
    • The yellow wire is broke inside the insulation between the plug and the light
    • The lights work great , the included wire is s***.
    • Beyond that, the wiring is junk
    • Lights are good quality, but the wiring is terrible
    • Don't snag the wire by accident
    • Pretty nice lights with absolutely the cheapest available wiring hardware.
    • Cheap kit=cheap wire
    • Worth the price, but the wiring is really cheap and thin, probably 18 or 20 gauge
    • great wiring kit, the LEDs are nice upgrade
    • Great tail lights but wires are flimsy not that
    • The wire MUST be ran in a Y configuration for anything exceeding 12 ft
    • The wiring is also split so 2 molded wires run to each light all the way to the plug.
    • Installation was clear and straightforward, however I have done a lot more complex wiring jobs over the years
    • I could live with the crap quick connectors and flimsy wiring, but finding out that the lights are not all LED is completely unacceptable
    • Within 4 months, the wires that were exposed to the sun were crumbling; the insulation was becoming chalky and the copper wire inside was corroding and breaking apart.
    • Better wiring with a more robust connection that resists vibration and exposure to stress would make these a five star unit.
    • Pretty nice lights with absolutely the cheapest available wiring hardware.
    • Cheap wire, non-standard 4 wire flat plugs will not match any other connection besides this one
    • Installed less than 1 year and the wiring is literally deteriorating
    • Easy to install, BRIGHT, same wiring colors as existing "trailer" harness
    • The lights work fine, however the wire that came with the kit is absolute junk
    • The lights are not all LED*Aluminum wiring corrodes and fails*Wires inside tail light twisted together and hidden with heat shrink
    • The wiring corroded after one use
    • Great pre wire setup
    • /t 2 marker lights (they're large, easily sticking-out an inch) / a license plate bracket / plenty of copper wire (I'd guess about 20G, but LED's don't take much), in a split run / some mounting screws, wire holders, and some crimp fasteners (as well as a couple wire nuts?).
    • After just a month the wires began to rot and fall apart
    • Broken wire somewhere for parking/tailights
    • The cheap wiring used in this light kit is horrible
    • I prefer a heavier wire.. other than that everything is great..
    • Good quality items with enough wire to rewire a trailer
    • Cheap wires, but light seem good
    • Instead of stripping, the wire immediately broke.
    • While the wire worked, the wire itself was impossible to properly solder.
    • Ample wiring
    • The wire was long enough for my 16'
    • I liked that enough wire is provided to rewire the whole trailer.
