Claves are a very important percussion instrument and these are a fine example.
Simple, yet ingenious percussion instrument very usable in church settings

The pedal offers a great way to play the cajon by sitting on it (as shown in the Cajon drumset videos), or place the cajon and pedel off to the side and sit on a drum throne with a snare or other percussion items in from of you.

Love the instrument and it's a good quality one at that.
But once that is set up, play away!A cajon is simply not the most difficult instrument to make decently, and Meinl does a good job giving you an excellent value.
I have heard better snare sounds on more expensive instruments but for an entry level instrument it is just fine
I will not suggest to you that the cajon is an "easy" instrument to play
Maybe that's what happened in the warehouse?I'm still in the market for a cajon, but I'll be trying the exact instrument I buy before I lay down the cash next time

I'm satisfied with this instrument so far, I'm sure that there are more expensive cajon out there that will be more expensive and better, but so far I am very satisfied
Therefore the cajon itself was damaged and that was pretty disappointing
There are not many other good sounding cajon that cost the same
It was the cheapest "good" cajon I could find, and I am satisfied with what I got!
This is my first cajon and I am just blown away with the sound and tone this drum exhibits

i play cajon and it hurts your finger after a while , piece chipped off the bottom
The only downside is that (just like with Meinl's wearable jingles,) the shaker moves during play, with the edge sometimes striking my fingers painfully.
When it came time to loosen some of the top screws, for a snappier slap, I found that as the screws had gone in crooked, they were sticking out at an angle, and hurt my fingers.
I have tiny, weak fingers and hands, but I don't even notice the extra weight

However, a couple evening's worth of foot-tapping vibrated the metal pins that jingles are mounted on; and vibrated one of the pins loose during moderate playing
The metal pieces are affixed in place by a small metal pin, and the pin vibrated out of its slot, resulting in the metal pieces falling out
would have gave 5 stars, but the pins that hold the metal disks in are loose, I keep pushing them back in, maybe a little glue on the end will help
The pins fell out and then the cymbals went everywhere.
