Ok, Ive dealt with economy (Sheet bronze) cymbal sets before, and found some pretty acceptable ones (From Paiste mainly), but these Meinls are just "ok".The Hi hats are the best from the set, and are actually pretty good, may even be used for smaller low volume gigs
The crash is a bit too small so its like two splashes and hats
Hi hats are really clean and short, better than average, good bite
The Meinl hi-hats are just a tad better than the Wuhans, but the Wuhan crash and splash are 10x better than the Meinls I got
Love the hi-hats, the crash however doesn't make the best sound ever, but that is my personal reference

We purchased the item for our son, a wonderful drummer/percussionist, for his 1st drum kit.
The bottom line is, if you want to become a great, well trained and skilled drummer, these cymbals are more than capable of bringing you to that point.(and the free splash is fun to splash every once in a while.)
I bought some $700 Zildjian A-Customs because the advice at a well known Drummer's forum called Drummerworld.com was that if you are going to upgrade your kit do the cymbals first because that was most important

I love my Meinl cymbals plus the free sticks that came with my order.
You can't beat this price for four great sounding cymbals, sticks, and lessons!
But the sticks that cone with the pack (promarks) have not yet broke

Wonderful addition to a 5 piece Pearl Roadshow Set, the cymbals outshine the stock Pearl ones and shimmer and shine with a much fuller and brighter tone
I think these will be an excellent addition to these sets
Overall this was definitely worth the purchase and has made a fantastic addition to my set.
He had parts of a drum kit but lacking the cymbals so these will be a nice addition to get him playing around to see if he develops an interest.
I love the hi-hat tone, both the crash and the splash are also good addition
