  • The Meinl Headliner Cajon is considered an entry-level/starter cajon, comes at a reasonable price, and has a reasonably good sound.
  • I recommend it, is a good choice and for a very good price
  • Well quality cajon, the front board can be adjusted so we can tune it the way we wantVery good item, great price, and fast

Reviews around percussion (4.74 of 5)

  • The pedal offers a great way to play the cajon by sitting on it (as shown in the Cajon drumset videos), or place the cajon and pedel off to the side and sit on a drum throne with a snare or other percussion items in from of you.
  • This is probably my favorite percussion instrument in my collection
  • Good percussion instrument for beginners and adequate for more advanced players.
  • Claves are a very important percussion instrument and these are a fine example.
  • Simple, yet ingenious percussion instrument very usable in church settings

Reviews around product (4.73 of 5)

  • I would highly recommend it, if you’re looking for a great product at a great price!
  • I am not a pro, but for someone looking to have some fun it's a great product.
  • Definitely an intuitive instrument to play and a really great product.
  • I am so very disappointed with a reputable company such as Meinl for allowing such an unreliable/gimmicky product to be sold
  • This isn't a horrible product, but it's not great either.

Reviews around instrument (4.73 of 5)

  • Love the instrument and it's a good quality one at that.
  • Maybe that's what happened in the warehouse?I'm still in the market for a cajon, but I'll be trying the exact instrument I buy before I lay down the cash next time
  • Definitely an intuitive instrument to play and a really great product.
  • Great instrument, arrived quickly and just as expected.
  • I have heard better snare sounds on more expensive instruments but for an entry level instrument it is just fine

Reviews around item (4.72 of 5)

  • Great item for additional subtle percussion- not as loud as most hand-held tambourines- perfect for solo/duo settings and for freeing up a percussionist's hand
  • The pedal offers a great way to play the cajon by sitting on it (as shown in the Cajon drumset videos), or place the cajon and pedel off to the side and sit on a drum throne with a snare or other percussion items in from of you.
  • It has a great sound and is an amazing item to have my son loves it.
  • Well quality cajon, the front board can be adjusted so we can tune it the way we wantVery good item, great price, and fast

Reviews around quality (4.58 of 5)

  • Very good quality, provides a solid base sound and slap sound
  • The sound is really good for live, as it's louder, noisier than the Schlagwerk, and has a bigger...looser, low end that many will love.
  • Poor quality, poor durability, terrible action, just an all alround bad pedal
  • I think the quality is good, but this is my first percussion instrument
  • The workmanship is very good and the sound quality is excellent.

Reviews around addition (4.55 of 5)

  • Louder than I expected but a good addition when playing the cajon.
  • Works great, good tone...nice addition to a Cajon set up!
  • Nice addition for any drummer, although, it seems as though the elastic bands will easily break if I try spreading it over my shoe too hard
  • The sound is really good for live, as it's louder, noisier than the Schlagwerk, and has a bigger...looser, low end that many will love.
  • He plays many instruments, this was a great addition to his collection of instruments.

Reviews around cajon (4.53 of 5)

  • There are not many other good sounding cajon that cost the same
  • Definitely a good buy for a beginner cajon player like myself.
  • I'm satisfied with this instrument so far, I'm sure that there are more expensive cajon out there that will be more expensive and better, but so far I am very satisfied
  • If your a beginner this is the perfect cajon not cheap but not to exspensive really good product.
  • The Cajon sounds good, has quality construction, and just feels good

Reviews around drum (4.21 of 5)

  • The drum was packed into the box securely so that the drum would not be damaged, which was a nice touch
  • There was little finishing and edge work involved either, up close, the drum looks as cheap as it is
  • You can rattle while drumming, and while the sound is soft, it is there
  • This is a good brand and great sounding drum for an acoustic feel.
  • Overall a great drum, and I am overjoyed to have received it as a gift this year.

Reviews around bass (3.86 of 5)

  • It sounds good, not a super deep bass sound but a groovy addition to any acoustic set.
  • Bass is nice and deep while the snare is crisp and sharp
  • This cajon produces a nice rich bass sound and it's tunable so you can get a good snare sound and different slaps from it as well.
  • I now have three distinct sounds available to me, a bass drum, a tom-tom at the top in the middle, and a "slap" at either top corner
  • It makes a good bass sound when you slap it in the middle with the ball of your hand, and the snare sound at the top is pretty good also

Reviews around snare (3.84 of 5)

  • Cool cajon, it can support a pretty good amount of weight and has a really good sound to it, especially the snare
  • This cajon produces a nice rich bass sound and it's tunable so you can get a good snare sound and different slaps from it as well.
  • Then by loosening all the screws on the upper front panel a few turns, I was able to get a nice, crisp snare sound as well
  • The snare is kind of lacking, I ended up using some tape on a few spots to get a better snare sound which helps.
  • It has the weird ring other reviewers mention, and the snare is horrible.

Reviews around finger (1.00 of 5)

  • Afte playing for few minutes, it starts hurting the finger
  • I have tiny, weak fingers and hands, but I don't even notice the extra weight
  • i play cajon and it hurts your finger after a while , piece chipped off the bottom
  • When it came time to loosen some of the top screws, for a snappier slap, I found that as the screws had gone in crooked, they were sticking out at an angle, and hurt my fingers.
  • The only downside is that (just like with Meinl's wearable jingles,) the shaker moves during play, with the edge sometimes striking my fingers painfully.

Reviews around pin (1.00 of 5)

  • would have gave 5 stars, but the pins that hold the metal disks in are loose, I keep pushing them back in, maybe a little glue on the end will help
  • The metal pieces are affixed in place by a small metal pin, and the pin vibrated out of its slot, resulting in the metal pieces falling out
  • However, a couple evening's worth of foot-tapping vibrated the metal pins that jingles are mounted on; and vibrated one of the pins loose during moderate playing
  • The pins fell out and then the cymbals went everywhere.
